Dec 4, 2014 I enjoy everything up until St. Tropez. Not to say the rest of the album is garbage; it isn't. However, that's where I began to lose a bit of interest. Overall though, a great album.
Dec 4, 2014 Word anyone who does anything remotely similar to GKMC will be considered a biter like Drake said in an interview. But the execution on this album is great. Theres no story, just arcs on this joint. Every song has a purpose.
Dec 4, 2014 Album is fire. Been on repeat since the leak. I don't want to say its best project to date because it still needs to stand the test against time. But structure of the album is deep and meaningful it makes FNL just look a collection of tracks. This is very cohesive and polished in that it truly is a movie as cole says. You can vividly see how cole thinks and how he came to be. Cole da goat#hollywoodcole
Dec 4, 2014 Word, not a surprise then that he's getting a positive response every forum I check as well. The Coli likes this album Boxden likes this album JCN likes this album AllHipHop likes this album KTT likes this album
Dec 4, 2014 I know Apparently isn't everyones favorite track, but d--- I can't get enough of this song. Cole's 2nd verse >>>
Dec 4, 2014 I have a feeling this album will wind up being similar to FNL for me, in that sense that I bump it for a long time and almost every song on it will become my favourite song on the project at some point
Dec 4, 2014 Lol, Kendrick definitely wasn't the first to make a concept album. Instead of saying people are biting his s---, we should be thankful the King is inspiring people to actually tell stories with their albums rather than just a bunch of unrelated tracks. I've given this album one listen so far. Definitely enjoying it although I don't think it beats Born Sinner for me. Not yet at least, I'll have to give it a few more listens to really know.
Dec 4, 2014 Glad to see cole spit some real deep s---. I can't put together a top 3 tracks every minute my list change. What t u other top 2?
Dec 4, 2014 I think Cole did a good job of combating the "J. Cole is boring" argument with this one... he switches the tone up more often and sings some of the hooks in accents and the beats/songs don't sound the same much at all. Is the iTunes version out there yet? Been googling it / checking the Atrilli pastebin but I haven't come across iTunes leak yet
Dec 4, 2014 Fair enough. Also, I wasn't trying to call you out personally or anything. I've just seen a ton of people (mainly on another nameless forum) constantly talking about it with bitterness. I personally love that Kendrick has made people want to make their own GKMC.
Dec 4, 2014 I hit the boulevard pull up to my n----- front door His mama at home, she still let em' hit the blunt though I told her hello and sat with my n----- and laughed And talked about how we gon' smash all the b------s in class I complimented how I see him out here getting his cash, and just asked "What a n----- gotta do to get that? Put me on" He just laughed when he seen I was sure 17 years breathing his demeanor said more He told me, "n----- you know how you sound right now? You won't my mans, I would think that you a clown right now Listen, you everything I wanna be that's why I f---s with you So how you looking up to me, when I look up to you You bout to go get a degree, I'ma be stuck with two choices Either graduate to weight or selling number two For what? A hundred bucks or two a week? Do you think that you would know what to do if you was me? I got, four brothers, one mother that don't love us If they ain't never want us why the f--- they never wore rubbers?
Dec 4, 2014 Finally got to listen to the album, on first listen I'm impressed. A Tale of 2 Citiez (that beat tho!), Fire Squad, G.O.M.D. (loved the production on this as well), and Apparently are standout tracks on my first listen.
