Jul 22, 2015 It's more the atmosphere that the projects bring, none of Coles studio albums majorly differ from one another. Since getting signed, Cole hasn't done many things that makes me sit there & say "huh, I haven't heard Cole do that before." His artistic growth is lacking & I think that's because he always wants to be so involved with his music, writing, rapping, producing etc.
Jul 22, 2015 so your really only talking about his writing/raps/stories not the "sound" cause the sound has been different. i can agree with that, he is talking about the same stuff for the most part
Jul 22, 2015 Born Sinner and FHD are great partially because they both very different but with cohesive and wonderful sounds. I love that about them. They are very distinct in that sense. So I could never see how someone could compare them.
Jul 24, 2015 Sound/atmosphere/vibe, whatever you want to call it, it's a constant throughout Coles studio albums. Cole's production doesn't vary much, he has a distinct production sound & since he's produced a vast majority of his 3 studio albums, that's where the similarities stem from. Obviously his content has remained the same for some time now too & that's not helping his variety either but I think it's predominately his production that's connecting all his studio albums together.
Jul 24, 2015 FHD IS THE GREATEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME. GOAT INTRO (f--- TUSCAN LEATHER). JAN 28TH THRU '03 ADOLESCENCE IS CLASSIC COLE (CHANNELLING NAS, KANYE & PAC). TWO CITIEZ AND FIRE SQUAD ARE NOTHING BUT THE REALEST BARS AND IMPECCIBLE FLOWS IN THE GAME. ST TROPEZ AND GOMD ARE MORE EXPERIMENTAL THAN PRINCE AND PAUL MCARTNEY SHARING LSD IN A STUDIO SESSION. NO ROLL MODELZ THRU APPARENTLY IS A SONIC AND NARITIVE PROGRESSION ONLY RIVALED BY A HYPOTHETICAL COMBINATION OF STEVIE WONDER AND ERNEST HEMMINGWAY. LOVE YOURZ IS THE MOST SENTIMENTAL HIP-HOP RECORD EVER MADE (f--- TO ZION). AND NOTE TO SELF IS SOME KIND OF RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE BLENDED WITH A STANDUP ROUTINE, LIKE COLE IS THE POPE JOHN PAUL MOONEY THE THIRD OF THE RAP GAME. COLE THE GUY IS THE SEVEN FIGURE n----- WITH THE GAME IN FIGURE FOUR. CHURCH.
Jul 27, 2015 ....Oh man....I can't tell if that's real or a mockery of how people think Cole fans sound like (f--- To Zion?). If it's the ladder then....Christ I'm sure they didn't mean to come off like that.... 'fake deep' basing a few lines for an entire album is meh. Cole's always said corny things like that, doesn't make him any less great to me imo. He said on Revenge of the Dreamers if the s--- ain't fun he won't do it. I just see those types of lines as him still having fun with his writing, he doesn't say things like that when he's most serious. In my opinion, Cole has remained solid and I've yet to be disappointed in anything I've ever heard from him. He does have weak tracks, but even then I don't hate those, and when I do listen to his older stuff he does sound more hungry, more aggressive to prove himself as he was getting up in the game. As far as his production goes....I will never understand that. I could understand people hating his production if he was like DJ Mustards a--- and EVERY.BEAT.SOUNDING.THE.f---ing.SAME. (I NEVER hear any criticism about that guy, wtf?) Cole could bring on Justice League or someone that could equally make a fire beat, but if he wants to do it himself, he will do it.
Aug 18, 2015 I just signed up to say that this album is top shelf s---. Never f----- with Cole before but maaan this is my s---. It's an easy listen, I like that.
Aug 18, 2015 I agree with this big time. I know he loves producing his own stuff, but I think he should bring in some other guys to give him a different sound on some records.
Aug 26, 2015 Holy s--- Im laughing "More experimental than Prince and Paul Mcartney sharing LSD in a studio session"
