It's a cool project, even though it does sound somewhat cookie cutter. good moments in there though. the fact that it was made in a few days makes it no more impressing to me I aint grading this s--- on a curve, it just is what it is. I like it though, it'll be nice to listen to at the gym.

Future so trash. I doubt I'll be able to listen to this tape. I guess my disgust for future trumps my affinity for drizzy. :idk:

Drake is going down a very dangerous slope for me.

I enjoy the music and I'm still gonna bump it because Drake can't make bad music imo but this line speaks volumes to me:

"Drastically changing, thank you for all your patience
I'm just in a different space and I choose to embrace it"

This is two projects in a row that b-----r, shallow Drizzy has dominated and its understandable for a future tape, and within the context of a balanced album some of these songs would be even better and more purposeful.

But tbh, reflective, insightful Drizzy in B*** might be gone. We might get glimpses like 30 for 30, 6 PM but I think this is who he's become. He's in love with the club scene/streets more than ever. Even the songs he was playing on OVO Radio before the mixtape that he said were currently inspiring him were all pretty much bangers.

I pray I'm wrong and VFT6 has NWTS type balance and I believe it'll be better than these last two projects, but I have a worrying feeling that I won't enjoy Drizzy as much. Who's to say he hasn't changed for the better though. Its all opinions and preference.

I wouldn't judge Drake's path with projects like IYRTITL and WATTBA. Those two were designed to be mixtapes which were made quickly. I don't think he was looking to be insightful or reflective on these tapes, they were more designed to be radio hits and throwaway tracks. VFT6 he's been working on since his last album and has been patient, calculated, and taking his time with. I expect the Drake style we see in Take Care and NWTS (Insightful Drake) where the album flows like an album should.

@Kold haven't heard the Future tape but I personally I think he's (his music) changed for the better. I was always skeptical about his insightful stuff cuz it was usually just about fame and women and it was hard to believe some of those stories. I feel like he's been rapping about his family, city and friends a lot more in the last few projects. I do like the balance of NWTS and i'm sure you'll get that on VFT6. I don't think Take Care was balanced at all and don't believe that Drake is returning.

Is it possible you may just growing out of his music in general?

Drizzy in danger of over-saturating the market with mediocre music? I guess if masses eating it up there's no problem. Better strategy than Cole anyway

Drake ripped the melody for the "you know" that he says at the top of his Diamonds Dancing verse from some soundcloud chick b. I know it's only two words, and artists do this all the time, but bruh this is how you respond to the QM fiasco?

I'm a Drake stan to my core, and I'm genetically predisposed to gravitating to simp records and all that, but I can't defend this n----- anymore. :mjcry:

I need to find a new n----- to stan, what's good with the Tory Lanez bandwagon? @Bliss

Maybe I'm growing out of it but I still like the bragging, I'm the man s---. Thats the vibe of the first five tracks of IYRTITL and I love it its just that it gets too much. A whole album of that is not that appealing to me. I just need NWTS type balance. I walk on campus listening to energy or 10 bands feeling like I'm the s---, but I also want that night time "look how far I came, look at how things change stuff" and I get the latter way less.

If Drake figures out the balance he's gonna make the perfect album to me, but he should just do what he feels. If he feels like he should be releasing more bangers who I'm I to say otherwise.
