I mean no one can say cole is a better rapper than kendrick because its not close in terms of rapping ability. What people can say and which is a common opinion, they prefer cole's music over kendrick's because they can relate more to it.

People indeed can say one is better versus the other. Like @Kold said music is subjective. I won't waste my time trying to argue with you over who's better because clearly you feel Kendrick is FARRRR superior. Lyrically, kdot is better. No question. Lupe lyrical ability is superior to kdot but yet he's no where to be found in the discussion.

The funny thing is FHD really boosted Cole's status as one of the best in the game to the point the Kendrick vs. Cole debate is relevant again

But new Cole hasn't even reached his prime yet imo. Mixtape Cole is still the best version of him but I don't feel like he's dropped his magnum opus yet.

Can't recall the last time, I've listened to TPAB or overly dedicated or even the Kendrick Lamar EPI can recall the last time I've listened to fhd or the warm up or fnl, or TY 1&2 or his throwaways.

I'm still trying to figure out how the f--- did FHD get such lukewarm responses from critics, even freaking Sideline Story got better scores from some sources I'd like to see the day God forbid K.Dot drops a weed-plate, will he still be getting acclaim?

No offense to Kendrick or Ye because theyve dropped classics in the past, but the critical acclaim for both TPAB and Yeezus means they'll always get critical acclaim imo. Not to discredit either of those albums because if you think they are great thats fine but the critical acclaim did not match up well with the general response from the public on either album.

Kendrick has a worldwide critically acclaimed album which is considered one of the best albums off all time. But the thing is, no song on that album or in his discography will make you feel the way you feel when you listen to Before I'm Gone, 2Face, Premeditated Murder, See World, Farewell, etc. That's always been the contrast between two of them and arguably their best projects. Both deserve a spot in the top 10 if you ask me, which is really crazy cause few years ago when you first heard them, nobody would bet everything he has that it will come this far.

I completely agree. All of us on here pretty much clarified this but imma bring it back up anyway at how even without the "full-circle" acclaim FHD is instrumental to his rising popularity & appeal and pretty much guaranteed him an extended stay on every rap fan's radar for another couple of years. Years back we'll look back at how paramount this album was to his career.
