    What if he goes the Jay or Rihanna route and goes platinum in a day or two?

    I'm just asking for your opinion. I kinda don't like that sort of stuff. Almost cheapens the work of racking up numbers with sales, but I guess times are different at the same time.

    Nah I don't care about fake platinum. He can go that route but it wouldn't be a huge accomplishment to me. It would be a good business move though.

    ANTI isn't even close to platinum if you're counting album sales traditionally : #1 Rihanna - ANTI - 166,322 (123,815)

    Rihanna is more about sales in the long haul. She always goes platinum plus.

    She always has 4 big radio hits each album. She'll be consistently selling records the next year and a half.

    Yeah I like Rihanna version better though. Her voice sounds better than the original band to me

    The first one is definitely a major accomplishment. But ANTI platinum because she did a Samsung deal like Jay did with MCHG to get a platinum plaque. She didn't actually sell a million copies of the album that's why I called it fake platinum even though she made bank off that deal. She might have a chance to actually sell a million copies and go the regular plat like @Head Bussa said with singles like Work pushing her. The 100M song awards is incredible but any major celebrities can do a samsung deal and go platinum. That ain't a big deal to me just a good business move. :idk:

    True, but if Kanye's dropping a MBDTF tier album, do you think people would be able to pay attention if Cole drops a mixtape or truly yours? He should just take the L and wait to drop it later tbh
