    Mainstream wise, Cole is at the same level as Kenny, no doubt about it. After GKMC, everyone was waiting for Kendrick to make his masterpiece. Add the concept and the tupac interview, and you can see why everyone rated it so highly. After the dust settled, everyone realized tpab wasn't that good and it didn't have a great public reception. If they change their tune now, they lose major credibility. If you see all the raoty polls, Cole is winning. Like @Mike Tyson said, these critics are just normal people like us who follow the hype. They'll look bad if they admit tpab isn't as good as they said it was. So you can now understand the Grammy thing. I'm still happy for Kenny tho cause he deserved all this awards for GKMC.

    That's how I feel. I can't lie, I'd love to see Cole win a grammy, but if he doesn't get one, I'll say it's whatever, he doesn't really need it lol :colerly:

    I'm a diehard Kobe fan and he only won one regular season MVP :wellsht:

    I think Cole is more commercially viable than Kendrick, not sure now tho cause of the whole Grammy exposure.

    But Cole has 3 plat albums, dude sells the most out of any rapper except Drake (old heads like Kanye and Eminem excluded obviously).

    And if they bring that to the table that's fine because I won't have the debate on that terms because again I simply don't care. The Heist winning a Grammy doesn't mean it's one of the best albums of this decade. Neither does MMLP2. I'm not saying it's wrong to care about awards. I get the cultural significance and the tradition behind it. But the Grammys do no define my taste, opinion, or views on music or the artist so how much can I really care? It also be hypocritical for me to care only when I think they got it right.

    Why is Kendrick winning all the Grammys right now? To make up for it? You really believe that s---? Like really? Heist was good enough to win and that's it. Was it the best IMO and in hip hop communities opinion? No.

    I know Grammys are worthless in value, but it says something about you as an artist if you have 17 like Beyonce or 21 like Kanye.

    People can get one by fluke (see Macklemore), or one by association (see T-Pain) but to get in the double digits is no joke. There is something special about you as an artist.

    Kanye is legit just 10 Grammys back of the all time high.
