And I think bas just put himself in those situations maybe he more open than lute or cozz. Bas just seems like he be around more, maybe it’s cause he was homeboys with Cole before the fame, y’all gotta put all that s--- into prospective. Bas said the jackie was made during the off season sessions… maybe bas just came down to nc to kick it with Cole and that s--- just came about… I doubt Cole just single handily picked bas and was like only bas gon be on the album lol. Think y’all thinking too much into it

I think he meant people don't want/don't attend that award show. It's usually z list love and hip hop type of artists. People also look down on it and the other BET awards show

    Lute album fire

I’m not here for any complaining from any of the Dreamville artists. They seemingly get to make whatever type of music they want and get it released by f---ing Interscope. They have every opportunity in the world to increase their visibility by touring and social media. The only critique that I think would be legitimate is that Dreamville gives them TOO MUCH freedom and doesn’t push them hard enough to get out of their comfort zones. Like you think if those dudes from Earthgang did the background vocals on one of those OffSzn songs, it would make a tangible difference in their ability to blow up on a major level? Come on man.

If 2010 Cole was signed to the Dreamville of today, he would’ve released FNL as The Sideline Story exactly as he would’ve wanted it. If anything, Coles career is a success story for the old school label A&R work. He had to learn to play the game to change the game, word to Mark Pitts.

Do y'all think that Dreamville is profiting off their artists, not including Merch and Cole.

Zero chance. Someone’s losing money. Probably Interscope. But it’s a negligible amount on their overall balance sheet and would help them for tax purposes.

Ib and any of the rest of executive/creative team profit from the standpoint that they probably draw an annual salary from Interscope. But in terms of literal profit, profit shares from music releases. Can’t see it. I want to be really clear, though, this isn’t meant to be an insult. I think most people don’t understand how extremely difficult it is to turn a profit doing anything. Most businesses don’t. A company like Interscope doesn’t want to have a profit because they’ll pay taxes on it, so they’re more than cool to lose money on a boutique label like Dreamville, which is good for their brand.

Yea, what Whitney said.. he didn’t call them out.. he just said n----s don’t want no problems with him, like n----s act like they don’t care about the hip hop awards.. n----s tend to look down on the hip hop awards, or don’t take it serious as they do the Grammys lol… which I don’t understand, cause the hip hop awards cater more to them than the Grammys. I never watched a Grammy show, I always watched the hip hop awards, cept this year, I missed it lol..

And I could’ve sworn Cole won lyricist of the year last year too, why ppl in the comments acting like he never won a hip hop award.. he got more hip hop awards than any other award I’m sure lol.. that goes to show you, even the fans don’t take the hip hop awards serious lol

Lute album was nice, Flossin is my favorite track. I wish the production was more diverse.

Listening to this Interview, It seems like the blueprint for Dreamville as label was Cole. They eventually expected Cole fanbase to jump on board but so far it hasn't worked. IB seems content with where the Label is but it seems Like JId and Earthgang want to be house hold names.
