The way Kendrick goes about things reminds me of a theatre kid who thinks he’s acting out the most important thing in his life.

SNL has made fun of s--- like this

Does a basic song like Rich Spirit require a music video with goofy dancing and weird antics? It’s like he’s trying so hard to be “artsy” with that s---.

That’s the faux artsy s---, @Ripper Roo. It’s all extra, bells and whistles, grandiose s--- that turns me and others away from Kendrick. Sometimes things don’t have to be epic and grandiose. Minimalism and getting your point across clearly in a straightforward way works, too. And his voice doesn’t help either.

Cole compare himself to Drake and Kendrick too much lol.. Drake had the hits, (what cole was chasing) kdot had the classic debut album(which cole was chasing) cole was always in the middle, career wise. ….. . Now they beefing, cole is in the middle lol , that s--- a lil trippy lol

The problem with Miss America is that it just wasn't very good. On really any level to me. I know a lot of people and probably y'all are into it. His tone was off to me and sounded like the unconvincing braggadocios cadence he used whenever he was fishing for hits for SS. The content of the song was very surface level. No unique insight or perspective. Just like some college freshman level America, amirite s---. And on top of that it wasn't a single at all. It wasn't like a good vibe.

And it was made even worse by the fact that Kendrick had just made some real legit hits that were bullseyes doing the exact same thing. Real hard a--- songs with depth and point of view but that were pleasing to the ear and a vibe. Like Maad City, Money Trees, Backseat Freestyle etc.

Glad they recognized that it wasn't a matter of his s--- being hated on or misunderstood but that he needed to level up.

Also I wanted to jump into the phone and shake them dudes when they were playing the Truly Yours songs, especially Can I Holla At Ya. These are some of the best songs he's ever made. He's probably surpassed them since but at that time that was like the Cole of TWU and FNL but with sharper skills from being in the game for a few years. My guys. If you want people to feel you like how they were feeling Kendrick.... PUT OUT THE SONG THAT'S MAKING YOU CRY. Dude. Come on. He eventually got that and put out FHD and the rest is history. But d--- dude.

Tbr, a lot of hits just comes down to having a dope beat.. like who dat probably could’ve been bigger with the right beat.. the beat was cool, but a certain type of beat would make a song bigger.. like with not like us, that beat took that song over the top, imagine that over a Mr morale type beat, that song wouldn’t have went crazy like it did and is still going. s--- just knock.

And that s--- th ey said jay z told cole about production, jay wasn’t wrong, cause a lot of us was saying the same s--- lol , cole beats always been dope, but he just needed that mainstream production to take his s--- to another level.. took him some years to get out his ways and reach out to other producers, but the s--- we see now is what doing that can produce.. for a long time I thought we won’t gon never hear cole over other n----s beats lol

Jay was right about a lot of s--- for sure. What Jay was wrong about was understanding where the sound of hiphop was and where it was heading. And he didn't seem to understand what made Cole special. But he was right to hold Cole to a ridiculously high standard and to push him out of his comfort zone. He was just pushing him to create some bs music that had no staying power.

Jay-Z dope for letting Cole do his thing after the initial struggle. Didnt let his ego get in the way which was dope too.

2 more unreleased tracks on the last episode that was dope too. Crazy k--- Edward really named after his dad. Power trip sample also gave me chills d---.

    Facts, smh.

Also imagine if Cole stayed in the beef and still released this lol. Would be soo weird praising them like this while beefing them. That beef f----- up his initial roll-out for real.

Ya Dot really screwed him over and for me personally showed himself to be a real hypocrite and tarnished how I saw him as a man. Doesn't change how I feel about his music. The vast majority of it is amazing. He's an all time great. It was just a b---- move and felt jealous to me. Him and Drake trying to steal Cole's moment.

"Now I'm front of the line with a comfortable lead
How ironic, soon as I got it, now he want something with me"

Tbr I think the whole s--- is ego and pride and a lil jealousy maybe lol. With cole I think him seeing Kendrick come up and watching him lowkey get a lil ahead of him made him feel some type of way, even if he won’t admit it , I think it was still a lil jealousy there seeing GKMC get praised and s---, and I can’t say it’s right or wrong cause it’s kinda human nature. Shiddddd, I feel pac was a lil jealous of biggie back in the day, I was a lil n----- back then, but looking back at interviews and just observing the whole situation, pac was def jealous of big a lil bit. Cole and Kendrick relationship reminds me of pac and big.. big was on the come up , him and pac became friends and biggie ended up blowing up while pac was locked up, pac even said he couldn’t believe ppl was showing big all that love lol, go back and listen to his interview with sway..

Now with Drake and Kendrick, kinda the same s---, that love Kendrick got from control def made Drake feel some way lol, it was all over that n----- face and in his voice, I remember them interviews he did back then throwing lil shots.. and I get why drake would feel some way lol, so drake won’t wrong for the way he felt, I just wished the n----s could’ve talked that s--- out, cause it won’t that deep, they could’ve deaded that s--- years ago, but that ego and pride ain’t let them, now we here..

idk I just see all sides, a lot of ppl be too bias and only see from their pov or their fav artists pov..

[Hov voice] That's real. You're right.

Lol. Ya for sure Cole was jealous of Kendrick at that time. The dude literally got exactly what Cole was dreaming about his whole life. To a t. He probably directed a lot of that energy to Jay and the label though because Kendrick got to be successful making the type of album Cole wasn't allowed to make. So Cole and Ib were right and Jay etc were wrong.
