Jul 3, 2020 Do you think we'll see another Eminem beef before he hangs it up? The MGK beef was sort of disappointing despite whether the songs were good or not
Jul 5, 2020 Please look up the definition of rebuttal. Also please give me a line or two that made you be like d--- he’s killing em right now.
Jul 5, 2020 Rebuttal - "an instance of rebutting evidence or an accusation." Acknowledging something, or just going 'yep', is not rebutting it. That's acknowledging it. Regardless, he didn't do it in a way which I FELT, which a lot of people - Em and non-Em fans agree with. Em was always the best disser to me, he wrote the best but he made you feel his response - s--- like 'Bully' or 'Nail in the Coffin'. 'Killshot' is not that at all, it's too laid back and he says nothing. It's limp. Plenty of lines/moments in 'Rap Devil', such as: "You wanted me to say sorry (what?) I swear to God I ain't believe 'em (nah) Please say it ain't so (no) The big bad bully of the rap game can't take a f---in' joke" and "Shout out to every rapper that's up under me Know that I'll never do you like this fuckery Still bitter after everyone loves you" MGK actually got at his character. Em didn't get at his character at all. He acknowledged everything he said, then said 'but I'm better at rapping and richer'... yeah, we know. 'Rap Devil' is more like what Em did in other disses, and above all else... I FELT it. The vibe felt like an assault, Em's didn't. MGK definitely won.
Jul 5, 2020 Um first off how is calling an underage girl hot or whatever he said a joke? Also how is that even killing em, or his character. Now in regards to your 2nd quote that’s total b.s there was another not so big rapper that when this came said how mgk would do him dirty because he was the bigger act. I get ppl saying it’s a better song, but a better diss there’s no way. Also what would em have to say about a rapper I’m sure he knows nothing about?
Jul 5, 2020 If the two most effective barbs of MGK's diss were "saying your underage daughter is hot was a joke that you should have got" and "you're angry all the time", then he lost by a greater margin than I previously considered.
Jul 5, 2020 I personally think Not Alike, Killshot, b---, Unaccomadating, Marsh (the ones where he somehow disses mgk) combined >>>>> mgk But ngl rap devil was pretty cool
Jul 5, 2020 Rap Devil was pretty cool. Think it was a ballsy choice that could have backfired spectacularly, and he deserves some credit for swinging. h--- even Em gave him a B for effort ha. Rap Devil will probably be MGK's biggest song though, something that he'll have to confront every time he drops something that doesn't top it. Check mate.
Jul 5, 2020 Lol. Normally, this might have easily been one of those over analyizing stuff people do with art etc. But when it's Em, I kinda know the guy probably thought about it...
Jul 6, 2020 MGK has seemed to settled more into rock, rap, pop, early 2000 style music after his mumble rap s---. He seems to be distancing from rap. And as @henzINNIT said, the biggest part of the diss is MGK never topping Rap Devil popularity.
Jul 6, 2020 As a role of thumb. You can immediately dismiss people opinions who believe rap devil won
Jul 6, 2020 Basic in rhyme structure and wordplay only. First one - ''big bad bully of the rap game can't take a f---ing joke'' - highlights Em's insecurity and posturing as a jokester. Makes him look like a smaller man by taking something so light-hearted so seriously. Second one - Showing that he's willing to s--- on his proteges, so to speak, just if they insult his ego a little bit... whether you agree with the assessment or not, makes Em look petty and not in a good way. These moments are a lot deeper than "By 29 I had three albums that had blew".
Jul 6, 2020 nah by saying “by 29 I had three albums that had blew” he is literally giving receipts that he’s better than MGK. That hurts more than all the opinionated hurt feelings s---. em’s disses are more literal, more inarguable.
