Jan 26, 2025 @AOTWClub 1.20.25 Review: I'm so used to Shook Ones Part II being the track that I often forget Part I even exists, so I was surprised when it came on. Both tracks are classics and a good start to the album. The mixtape overall is really well put together and the sound feels cohesive. While I’m familiar with some of the artists, I'd say about 90% of the tracks were new to me. There’s a great variety of songs and it all flows together smoothly. There were a few tracks I’d never heard before that i'll be adding to my playlist like 'Useless, ''Climbing Up the Walls'' and ''Organ Donor''. On the flip side, there were a few I didn’t like very much. I appreciate how your taste in music veers off the beaten path but at the same time doesn’t dive too deep into crazy experimental territory. Overall it was a solid mixtape 7/10
Jan 28, 2025 Justin Trudeau - The Trudeau Tape Favorites: Evil Woman, 24 Hrs. to Live, X-Is Coming Least Favorite: Lisa RIPPER ROO’S RATING: 10/10!!!!! I don’t have much to say about this tbh as I liked pretty much all the songs and have heard a lot of them before. Even the song “Lisa” I didn’t personally vibe with was still a good song. If I had to come up with complaints about this playlist I would have to pull them out of thin air so I really have nothing negative to say. A lot of these older songs remind me of my grandparents. This is an incredible playlist and I enjoyed it very much. @AOTWClub
Jan 28, 2025 Oh I’ve also finally narrowed my playlist down to 16 tracks. Hopefully the final product comes out okay
Jan 28, 2025 Thanks man So Lisa was an interesting one, I know John River and wanted to potentially throw him on to you guys. Hes got quite an interesting story and he wants me to be in a music video sometime. His album "the academy" is actually fairly dope he's got a J.Cole sound. He's from Toronto, I actually think it's kinda lame he hasn't blown up yet. Anyways glad you enjoyed the mixtape, looking forward to hearing yours and everyone else's. I think the mixtapes were a fun idea.
Jan 28, 2025 That’s dope, hopefully you end up in that music video. I relate to your story in a way, it’s nice to know some rappers lol. He’s a good rapper, the song is deep I just couldn’t vibe with it for whatever reason idk why. I just remembered you actually showed me him before and I liked songs from the same album Lisa is on lol I have “Intro”, “Lowered the Heights”, and “Before I Go” liked on Apple Music. Yeah man a lot of classic songs They are a fun idea for sure. My mixtape has went through a lot of changes since it was announced. I’m kinda just going with what I feel like at the moment
Jan 28, 2025 @Justin Trudeau @AOTWClub 1.20.25 Imma keep this one short but I really enjoyed this and it's as cohesive as everyone said, pretty cohesive and most of the songs were new to me but from bands that I've been meaning to listen to for a while now. Of course Shook Ones is great, I really enjoyed Dunkelheit (even if it's f--- Varg forever), Physical was great and I haven't listened to as much NIN as I want to. Any Alice In Chains is a positive, I went back and forth on some of the vocal delivery on it but solid nonetheless. Some of the electronic and triphop tracks are from bands I've been meaning to dip my toe into (I've had Dummy by Portishead saved for years now but haven't given it a full listen) and while I think a lot of these are great they also make me deeply uncomfortable for some reason, something about the hazy 90s eyes wide shut party a--- music is unsettling for me so idk if it's for me exactly despite the quality lol I still want to give these whole albums a shot though! Never heard of Angels Of Light but it was much different from what I was expecting considering the cover art, the DJ Shadow song was a b-----r, I also need to listen to this g.d. Velvet Underground album already cause Heroin was the standout track for me. Idk how often I'd listen to #19 but I can see why you love Aphex Twin so much. I said I was gonna keep it short but I'm yapping so imma end it here FAVORITE SONGS: Shook Ones, Physical, Climbing Up The Walls, Organ Donor, Heroin RATING: 8/10
