Feb 1, 2025 at 3:15 PM I feel like my tape is a tad bit safe with some selections, but I feel like I got some good album cuts from the mainstream artists I have on there
Feb 1, 2025 at 4:01 PM My mixtapes first section is more mainstream stuff for the genres they're in but it gets a little more in the weeds as it goes on
Feb 1, 2025 at 4:02 PM Justin Trudeau - The Trudeau Tape Heading into this mixtape, I already recognized some of the songs so I was very excited going in. I'm gonna go track by track for most of this review, but I'll base the final score off of my overall enjoyment. Ain't That A Shame - I remember JT posting about Fats Domino back during his Danny Tanner days, but this was my first time actually listening to a song of his. I thought it was pretty good, and a great intro for the project. Runnin' With The Devil - Not too familiar with most VH outside of 1984 but I enjoyed this track quite a bit too. Evil Woman - Holy s---. i probably mentioned this beforehand, but I've played GTA IV and absurd amount of times, so the soundtrack is basically ingrained in my memory at this point. Evil Woman might be my favorite song on the entire soundtrack (and this mixtape as a whole). Jeff Lynne is great and THE STRINGS. 10/10 track Bad Moon Rising - Good track. Never really listened to much CCR but I liked the track Bobcaygeon- Never heard of the artist before, but I dug it. very vibey. Sundown- GREAT vibe. Very relaxed and an instant save 24 Hrs To Live- I checked out Ma$e's Harlem World during the summer, and this track was the standout for me. EVERYBODY kills it, but I have to say that X's verse might be my favorite. Also this might be an unpopular opinion, but Puffy's adlibs/vocals have always been a guilty pleasure of mine. What The Beat- Great track as well. As much as I like their later collabs, the late 90s-early 2000s BME tracks have always been my favorite. m--- kills its as expected too. Sacrifice of the Masses- Very good track. the first half kinda reminds me of the slower songs on Holy Wood, and the song's structure kinda reminds me of Fundamentally Loathsome from Mechanical Animals. X Is Coming- Incredible track from one of the greatest albums ever. The first time I heard the r--- line I had to do a double take lmao. X is one of the best ever Everywhere I Go- Xzibit is probably one of the most criminally underrated rappers ever. He kills it, and I like the beat as well Cadillac's & Chevy's- I have to admit, I was not a fan of this track. It's just not for me. I can recognize that he's got some great lines, but it isn't my cup of tea. Lisa- Similar to the last track, I didn't really dig this one either. I do think John has a great voice, but I wasn't a fan really Draped Up- I'm a big UGK fan so this was pretty neat. Bun is really one of the best ever imo Feel It In The Air- Decent track. Beanie has always been one of my favs from the 90's Roc-A-Fella lineup, and he does pretty well here. Sweet Home Alabama- Absolute classic. Overall while I did enjoy a large majority of the songs on this mixtape I feel that there's a clear divide between some the songs on the first half, and the tracks on the latter. Some absolutely incredible tracks on here though don't get me wrong. Wasn't that big a fan of tracks 12&13 which brings my score down a bit, but I enjoyed this mix for the most part. Big thanks to @Justin Trudeau for the tape!!! FAVORITES: Evil Woman, Sundown, 24 Hrs To Live, X Is Coming, Sweet Home Alabama RATING: 7.5/10 @AOTWClub @Justin Trudeau

Wanted a strong intro, this felt right considering it was my fav album of 2024 2. Obviously, had to have some Travis rep in here. Was trying to figure out what would work after a track like St. Chroma and ended up with THANK GOD. Love this track, and feel like it remains underrated in Trav's discog despite him performing it on tour. 3. Also obviously, had to have some Em representation in here. I absolutely love this song, and it might be my favorite Em song if not top 5. There needs to be a convo about Sticky Fingaz doing better than Em on this song, because I go back and forth on who did better. 4. This is one of those songs I get absolutely addicted to, then forget about, get addicted to, back and forth over and over and I'm back in the addicted phase so it earned a spot here, but it works perfect! RIP Takeoff. 5. Loved this DOOM song for a bit now, and with me exploring his entire discog, I wanted to give it a highlight. Fantastic production and as usual, fantastic rapping from DOOM and also Kurious. RIP DOOM 6. Favorite Yeat song and some of his best rapping performance by far, he absolutely flows on this s--- and kills the beat. Some of the best flows and rapping he has pulled off, I think the Yeat doubters on this forum will be impressed. 7. KA$HDAMI, Tyler, and Ye are the artists who got me through 2021 and my junior year with their respective releases. You all very likely have not heard of DAMI but his 2021 run is NUTS. This is my favorite song by him by far. 8. Just a vibe, felt like it fit in with Yeat and Dami. Great s--- 9. Been my fav off GNX since it dropped. This is better than tv off and squabble up i do not give a f--- 10. We begin to calm down here with a vibe from Carti and one of my favorites when I would be in the mood to spin my sad playlist. Haven't had to spin it for awhile luckily so this felt like a blast from the past, one of my fav Carti tracks by far 11. We reviewed Destroyer a few months ago when I picked it, so I made the last minute decision to swap the album version with the live version when they played with an orchestra, put a spin on a great track! 12. This song got me through so much, I f---ing love it. I broke my rule of not having an artist appear on here twice because I love the slight addition of the Tyler background vocals. 13. Just a classic that I cannot get enough of. Felt right to put this here with all the piano representation at this point in the tracklist. 14. This is my favorite from Olivia Rodrigo and I think people need to shine more light on it. I see NOBODY talk about it and it's such a shame. Beautiful singing and insane production. 15. Ms. Swift herself finally makes an appearance in AOTWClub, with a cut from my favorite album of hers. One of my absolute favorite tracks off this amazing album and I think you all will enjoy it 16. RIP X man, wanted to have him on the mixtape and thought this song would be a fantastic closing track. Can't believe it will be 7 years since he passed this year. Hope you all enjoy! @Justin Trudeau @AOTWClub

Feb 2, 2025 at 2:58 PM @AOTWClub Trudeaupe mixtape review I've enjoyed everything I've heard from Marilyn Manson so far, so if you have any album recommendations in the same vein as the album that was proposed for AOTW a while back, I’d be happy to check it out. It was great to see some Southern rap. I really like Bun B and also having Xzibit’s recent track was a nice touch. it's definitely a b-----r. And course DMX is always welcome. The Ma$e and Beanie Sigel tracks were dope. Lisa was decent at first, but then it started to sound like Eminem for some reason. That last verse especially felt like it was written by Em. The first 6 songs didn't grab me as much. That’s not to say they’re bad. I'm pretty selective with classic rock, There were a couple classics like Evil Woman and Running With the Devil. But I tend to appreciate that type of music more in a movie scene than as something I’d listen to on its own. That said, all in all, it was a very solid tape. 7.5/10
