Feb 9, 2025 Off Topic: Truly nothing better than taking a long s--- at work and adding up how much you've made while sitting there playing games on your phone
Feb 10, 2025 @DiggleDogg69 - Everyone’s Favorite MIXTAPE review I’ll preface this by saying that this is a nice, concise, and dynamic mixtape that I’ve enjoyed quite a bit, more than I thought I would, even. St. Chroma was a great opener, the song by itself is super fun. I enjoy Tyler’s work quite a lot, including Chromakopia - so I knew that this would be a b-----r of a kick-off to a rap focused mixtape. This song does to this playlist the exact same it does for the album it came from - sets the mood very nicely. St. Chroma is followed up by a deep cut from Utopia. Thank God was one of the standouts for me on that album so I loved hearing it again. Even though Travis is often described as this psychodelic trap virtuoso, I’d describe much of his music as moderately trippy, and I say that as a good thing. What I mean by this ‘moderately trippy’ description is that his music sticks to the more energetic and hard essence of trap while sprinkling in these off-kilter elements successfully. 2/2 so far. Not much to say about Remember Me, classic track. As classic as it gets. The energy here is infectious. This track makes me wanna hijack a hearse. The following Metro Boomin track was meh, wasn’t as strong to me as the first three songs. Never was that into Rocky tbh. Sometimes I feel like he gets the best beats and doesn’t do much with them, Takeoff’s verse sounded recycled too. Production is smooth though. The next song isn’t my favorite DOOM track (or project for that matter) but it was very good. He can hardly miss and even the less interesting songs are objectively pretty fire. I enjoyed the Yeat song more than I thought I would. The production kinda carried though, tbh. I like the bounciness this song radiates with. Ka$hdami works for me cause the song does not overstay its welcome. It is stupid but fun. I struggle with s--- like this cause of the stitched in, clipped(?) flow. If the song were longer I’d get nauseous from it. Hey Now is such a b-----r man. I might be in the 1% of K.Dot glazers. What a track man. So many quotables. GNX just dropped and I am already fiending for more material. Hope he doesn’t disappear for another 5 years after this run. GOAT. This Carti song made me grin ngl. The song is beautifully ignorant. This man got the biblical, chance the rapper-esque production and says s--- like ‘I’m taking your s---, you college kid’ . One of the better Carti songs I heard (only listened to Die Lit so yeah). Fun, fun track. This rendition of Great Expectations is very cool. Never heard it before. I like when rock music is made grandiose. There’s something interesting about a band that’s so ‘in your face’ taking a more classical approach. Didn’t really fw the Kanye song, honestly I disliked the Donda album itself. Some of these lyrics sounded like they were taken from a tampon commercial. Cool production on here but does not come close to some of his other material, IMO. Elton song is 1000/10. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is what shows up when you look up the definition of a timeless classic. Making The Bed is a very pretty song. I liked the climax at the end, interesting way to set up a culmination to the personal, sad verses. I wish I enjoyed the Taylor song as much as the Olivia one. I mean it wasn’t bad at all, I liked her performance but sonically the song to me sounded like a Bon Iver leftover sprinkled with a touch of Jack Antonoff stringwork. I’d rather listen to For Emma, Forever Ago. The XXXTentacion song is probably one of those tracks his estate assembled from the bits and pieces found in the folder of his phone titled ‘ideas’. I do not mind it but it is incomplete and does not justify its 2 and a half minute runtime. Thanks for the very fun mix, man! 7/10 @AOTWClub
Feb 11, 2025 Every roo has its day. Sorry, @Ripper Roo but I'm about to s--- on your mixtape. You probably already know this is not my kind of music. I generally don't enjoy pop and rnb music. I really didn't like much of this at all. Even the Kendrick and Denzel songs are like my least favourite of theirs. I don't like lil peep type artists like Glaive, while Clairo makes music to take a s--- in the bush to. There was like 6 songs combined from these two so it was doomed for me. This music is what I would expect if I turned on a pop radio station, they would also be suited to be played in a Twilight movie. The Weeknd song was great, and 6lack was decent. But, sorry man I just didn't like most of it. 3.5/10 @Justin Trudeau
