Mar 8, 2025 at 4:50 AM It was the opening initially but then I put The viagra boys track first to make it chronological. So I effectively had the mixtape start with the birth, ‘almost starting a fight’, and then the cops looking for jim jazz. It was an attempt to connect some of the themes and also the point when I realised that making a concept mixtape on the character of Jimmy Jazz is impossible lol. This was the closer at some point:
Mar 8, 2025 at 4:50 PM @Jimmy Jazz - The Desolation of Jim Jazz REVIEW Score: 9.4 (15/16) Is this the mixtape so far with the most focus on rock? Regardless if it is or not, I really liked this tape. Very similar sounds throughout and it made it flow really nice. I only had one miss, that being Teeth Like God’s Shoeshine. It didn’t hit to me like every other track on this tape. Otherwise, amazing tape! Not enough stepdad (unironically probably would’ve given you a bonus if you used up a slot just to include stepdad) @AOTWClub Mixtape Mania Rankings: 1. Into The Jank-Verse - 10.0 2. EVERY ROO HAS ITS DAY - 9.4 3. The Desolation of Jim Jazz - 9.4 4. The Trudeau Tape - 9.4 5. 1.20.25 - 8.1 6. Halloween: Revival of Michael Myers - 7.9 7. Get Wreck'd - 5.6
Mar 8, 2025 at 6:13 PM We haven’t all agreed on the next rounds theme yet, but @Michael Myers recently suggested an 80s theme in another thread and I like that idea
Mar 8, 2025 at 6:37 PM @Allis Mines youre up for your mixtape tomorrow! Feel free to share it anytime
Mar 8, 2025 at 7:21 PM Wow!!! That is an amazing score man, thank you for the review. Glad you liked it so much. I am saving Stepdad - Intro and Stepdad for a special playlist. It is really hard to craft a mixtape where that song doesn’t overshine everything. Definitely one of the wonders of the modern world, wouldn’t want to soil everyone’s ears with other music after they’ve been exposed to the divine sounds of Eminem’s insecurities. Perhaps if the time when I deem myself worthy comes, I will post a harp cover of the song.
Mar 8, 2025 at 7:33 PM Some of the themes I thought of for the next round: Late night drive mixtape Future nostalgia - newer music that sounds like it’ll feel nostalgic to you in the upcoming years) Storytelling - self-explanatory, ,collections of songs that tell a story. Rainy day - soothing, melancholic, moody tunes for those indoor days. Genre oriented - We choose a genre and everyone picks their favorites. Mixtape you’d play if you were to open up a bar one day lol. Just some ideas to get the ball rolling, I am down for anything, though!
Mar 8, 2025 at 7:47 PM The 80s have a lot to work with, I like it! I like these too. #3 definitely catches my attention the most but they’re all pretty good
Mar 8, 2025 at 8:02 PM just as a warning, if we choose #2 im gonna have like 5 carti appearances on it

Mar 8, 2025 at 8:08 PM 80s is very fun too, I’d probably have like the entirety of Disintegration on the mixtape, though. Lol.
Mar 8, 2025 at 8:10 PM Seeing Saba, Open Mike Eagle and some other artists on here has me hyped already.
Mar 8, 2025 at 8:28 PM Got my assignments done today thankfully, so gonna dive into the tape tomorrow. I've only heard the Armand Hammer track before (literally on thursday lmao) so I'm excited to hop in. As for the theme, in case we're doing a vote, I give my vote to either the storytelling or the 80's idea. Leaning a bit more towards storytelling but 80's has a lot to work with too.
