Sep 6, 2018 Nothing against critics, just the community. Just look at how weaponized Fantano is in the Hip Hop community
Sep 6, 2018 only stupid people use reviews as facts, just like stupid people use sales as a reason for why an album is good. You can use either of those as evidence in an argument, but I don't think anyone worth discussing music with would assert those things.
Sep 6, 2018 People use his opinion as facts and hates album he ranked poorly. It mostly happens on /r/HHH tho. The biggest examples this year are Logic, JCole and Mac Miller. I ain't saying that these albums are masterpieces, but the big majority was loving BT2, KoD and Swimming until Melon dropped his negative review. Then everybody started shi--ing on these albums using Melon's review as a proof that these albums are bad
Sep 6, 2018 right lol. like give me a break. such lazy writing that isn't rly engaging with the material. (same goes for the trite outrage over 'fa----')
Sep 6, 2018 Fantano couldn't say Valee's name right and called "Proof" "Poo". Getting upset by his hip-hop opinions is embarrassing.
Sep 6, 2018 hiphopheads is also awful, so of course they love fantano Honestly I don't know how anyone can stand to talk about music there even just with the way threads are set up on reddit.
Sep 6, 2018 Peeping how ridiculous and futile the media is isn’t “Trump-like” lmao. It’s not hard to see from the average person how much of a cess pit the media world is. Why do wannabe be critics always have to make some sort of forced irrelevant comparison? Music “reviews” as a whole are just pointless drivel for people who can’t understand music to help them formulate their opinion.
Sep 6, 2018 believe it or not, i dont find u v persuasive or charming. and im happy to debate the word, and how its v v lazy and "problematic" of em to use it in 2018. but doesn't mean it automatically disqualifies the ENTIRE album. tarantino used the [n word...which charlie mutters while being kukt] in pulp fiction, etc.
Sep 6, 2018 I don't blame the critics for that really though, more the people that say stuff like "yeah fantano or pitch4k said it!!" when they wanna attack or defend something.
Sep 6, 2018 sure, it doesn't disqualify the entire album, but i don't think there are any serious people making the argument that it does. if anything, it's easy to point to lines like that as symptomatic of eminem's lazy hackery on a broader level.
Sep 6, 2018 How is it irrelevant that someone who dedicated the bulk of an album to attacking Trump turns around and does something trump would do on his next album (attack/dismiss the media because they criticized him)? Some people parrot what they read in reviews, yeah, but a lot of people read criticism because they wan to engage with, discuss, and think about an album/movie/book/whatever.
Sep 6, 2018 I think you and I have diff google alerts. And easy is right. Though I don’t think they’re necessarily citing it as evidence of his hackery.... I’ve seen plenty of ‘reviews’ referencing it as if that in itself is disqualifiying. Like, it’s one word, it’s bleeped, it’s a specific context etc. just think it’s bad, boring writing to call it out (again, like it’s 2001)
Sep 6, 2018 it's a line that caused his collaborator on the song to disown it, which i would say makes it the most newsworthy part of the album, at least in a short-term sense
Sep 6, 2018 didnt he have like 1 song on revival that talked about trump? And they are allowed to be similar lol. As if Eminem is gonna sit down and think "d---, i better not attack the media on this track, because thats what Trump did!" Its 2 completely different situations. The media have hounded, lied, spat their dummies out and done everything they can to discredit Trump, fake news or not. Alls they did to eminem was call his album s---...which it was.
Sep 6, 2018 That’s a different news story, and again diff context.... dunno that still inherently justifies anything critically
