    I think 808s was influenced by Phil Collins. Pitchfork did an article about it. Also Kanye has covered Collins. I'm listening to Genesis's (Phil's band) album Invisible Touch, and it def has some 808s vibes in it.

    kanye knows what he's doing for liking and paying homage to phil collins. I think he's still trying to get closer to classic music with different musical influences. I think he's still searching for that perfect sound that embodies all of his favorite artist including phill collins, TCQ, and pharcyde. I want him to go back to what he was feeling during the yeezus era and expand on that. I think he was going somewhere with it...
