Jan 9, 2015 I think everyone gets help when writing tho if they gets stuck. Like if I get stuck on a bar, I'll talk to my brier, and he'll give me my next bar, and then I can keep writing
Jan 9, 2015 Always just assumed kanye would get help and s--- from somewhere with his lines. He's like a 'legendary producer' so it makes sense to me that he'd sometimes get "better" rappers/writers to add to his stuff if he believed it would make the end product better. I can imagine him being all "Yo Jay give this new song a read, i think these bars a little off" and Jay would be like "yeah maybe try change this to this" you could literally replace jay/kanye in that with anyone though. I assume it would happen alot, it's just kind of like fixing a first draft of a song.
Jan 9, 2015 I thought it was established a long time ago that Kanye basically hands out writing credits for free. Cyhi The Prynce is credited for almost every song on Yeezus and has said plenty of times that he didn't actually write a word of it and got credited for giving praise to whatever Ye was writing at the time.
Jan 9, 2015 "Prynce was in the studio for much of the recording of Yeezus. In fact, he receives writing credit on nine of the 10 tracks. (“Send It Up” is the only track where he doesn’t receive a credit.) Cyhi says it isn’t a ghostwriting situation where he is penning rhymes for Kanye, but rather writing by committee. “I’m just in there with him, keeping him up, keeping the environment in the room. That’s like one of my jobs I feel like, because they ask me to do it,” he said. “We wrote a booklet of different things that could be put in here. The bible just wasn’t wrote by Jesus. Inspirations came from everywhere that put this whole thing together.”
Jan 10, 2015 Kanye - and his team - have stated many times that Kanye's creative process is so open that he just spits what he's written and all of his team will have input into how to make it better/change ups etc. The whole thing with Rhymefest has been cleared up directly by Rhymefest. He was sitting on the sample and the concept around the song for some time; he wrote the hook and he had a verse on the original. He is insistent that Kanye wrote his own verse.
