    Yeah. It worked for Yeezus because he was still at his creative peak and the album already was pretty formed in terms of themes and structure. It was just a couple songs with no lyrics if I remember right.

    it worked for Pablo because the album sort of WAS the rollout itself along with the ever-changing, tinkering nature. It worked with how manic the album is in terms of ups and downs. But that’s something that only works once.

    the concept of doing a mini-album a week is cool—kinda like a 48 hr film festival—but that’s what it should have been—a side project not a legit studio album. And ofc it didn’t help that he was already well into incoherence at that point. you could tell which albums had been worked on long before (Daytona, KSG, KTSE) and which were thrown together in a week.

    and obviously JIK/Yandhi was just a bunch of pump fakes with him “premiering” an album that wasn’t close to done

    This is so sad. What is he even talking about? One second he’s saying how Zuckerberg tried and failed to bring the internet to Africa (which is a weird statement because they already have internet) and then he says China is buying up land in Africa, then he follows that point up by telling the audience how he gave adidas a 15% royalty deal (although he prefers multiples of 10).
