But the topic of this thread was whether or not Kanye is overrated, and I haven't seen a legitimate criticism other than not having good lyrics on one album. That's not enough to qualify an artist as overrated. I mean, even as a huge fan of his I agree that he's overrated, I'm js the reasons presented weren't very good
Feb 5, 2015 I didn't say he was overrated since he first came out. but the praise he gets here with his recent work like Yeezus is too much which makes him overrated here.

Like, I'd prefer for Kanye and (old) Eminem to be super overrated as opposed to like Hoodie Allen or 2chainz

Feb 5, 2015 Kanye is a great artist. I wouldn't say he is a great rapper even though his first 3 albums were good lyrically. Some people are too focused on rappers being great lyrically. Pac wasn't as good mc as Biggie but a better artist.
