    808s

    1. College Dropout (dropout)
    2. Late Registration (re-enroll)
    3. Graduation (graduate)
    4. Good a--- Job (get a good a--- job)

His mom passing away and his engagement getting called off changed his mindset and we ended up with 808s, which changed rap music forever

Yeah, I don't mind him on certain songs (ngl I'm a sucker for that Transformer song he did with Weezy like 10 years ago), but I think fatigue is a good word for it. I can't take much of him without getting bored.

The man can sing, of course, but I feel like artists who are a lot less gifted in that department do a lot more with their voice and use their shortcomings to their advantage. On a personal level, I'd rather hear someone like Thug, Greedo, Gates, Future, Quavo, Makonnen, Kanye, Chance...anyone with a more unique, non-traditional singing voice over someone like CB pretty much any time. Even Drake falls into this department of "non-traditional" somewhat, I'd say.

I feel like Kanye gets really excited a couple days after finishing one song and goes WAY overboard in announcing a whole new album, then forgets about it after his hype dies down.

    P.S. - Champions wasn't really that great

After Views, I don't really want a Kanye x Drake album honestly. We won't get either of their full efforts and it'll be a bunch of Pop Style-esque tracks with random AF verses.

Or maybe it'll be amazing, who knows. I just don't want him to f--- up 8 classics in a row.

I think it's a bit misleading to say that Good a--- Job turned into 808s as I'm pretty sure the 808s stuff was all reactionary to what was happening in his life. From what I understand some of the MBDTF session stuff (like mama's boyfriend, see me now) was meant for a tentative album called "Good a--- Job" but he ended up going in a different direction and renaming it. Some of those songs may have been conceived before 808s, but I think 808s is a completely different entity.

Absolutely, I can think of times where those guys can create a more genuine experience through their perceived lack of classical vocal training, like look at 808's and the use of auto-tune to add that paradoxical emotional weight by sounding more robotic...but it goes both ways, I can't imagine listening to say Radiohead if Thom Yorke's voice wasn't so incredible.

I will say that Ye X Chance makes a lot more sense than Ye X Drake so in much more excited that this is even in the realm of possibility...still, with four projects in the pipeline I'm starting to get skeptical that any are even gonna be done in the next year.

Haven't watched the video yet but wasn't this the original title for MBDTF or Graduation? Can't remember which... either way the title is familiar
