Apr 16, 2017 <iframe src="" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen> Back in Summer 2016 when Dj Khaled dropped “Holy Key,” featuring Big Sean, Betty Wright and Kendrick Lamar off Major Key people accused Kendrick for using Eminem’s flow on “Stay Wide Awake.” Same thing happened this weekend when Kendrick dropped his album d---. This time, people are claiming that a track called DNA has the similar flow as Eminem’s “Desperation.” off MMLP2, Interesting s--- could be a reach but i do hear clear similarities and inspiration.
Apr 16, 2017 Meh he's had the clear similarities and inspiration throughout most of his career I don't think anything of it
Apr 16, 2017 Dot also used Juvenile's flow on Element, don't care bout flow biting though since no flow is original
Apr 16, 2017 I feel that. It seems like these days you could say any artist is biting someone if you look hard enough
Apr 16, 2017 True, this also negates the whole Eminem didnt influence s--- for the culture argument though imo.
Apr 16, 2017 Exactly, shouldn't matter if you call out someone for using a flow long as it's a dope song
Apr 16, 2017 some flows on DNA remind me of a flow used in one of the verses on Crept and we Came by Bone Thugs
Apr 16, 2017 'Humble' 2nd verse reminds me of 'Encore' era flow. Not a good or bad thing. Just reminds me of that era
Apr 17, 2017 That's interesting, never thought about it like that. Personally I've found em overrated but idk if I'd say he hasn't influenced anything
Apr 17, 2017 Lol yeah Kendrick definitely heard some s-----y bonus track off mmlp2 and then decided 4 years later to copy a flow from it
Apr 17, 2017 its the other way around actually em heard the beta for holy keys and liked it so he stole the flow
Apr 17, 2017 Eminem inspired Kendrick to rap. You hear his influence in nearly every song. The torch passed from one GOAT to another
Apr 17, 2017 I'd bet a lot of money Kendrick hasn't heard Desperation. Christ, it took me a minute to remember that song and I don't think even I've ever listen to it the whole way through. I do like how Kendrick paid homage to Eminem by destroying an otherwise perfect song by rapping about taking a s--- on Lust. Bravo.
Apr 17, 2017 Who cares. Eminem took Jay-Z's flow in "Forgot About Dre". Producers use samples all the time. Kanye got famous off of sampling old music and turning it into brand new masterpieces. Em sampled Ice Cube's style. Kendrick has sampled Pac's style Jay sampled Big's style. Sampling is fine... the thing that matters is at the end of the day. Are they gonna see you as YOU or are they gonna see you as the next Eminem, Jay, Kendrick etc. And people see Kendrick as Kendrick not as "The Next Whatever The f---"
