Jan 17, 2016 Definitely. He clearly made a more mainstream album with gkmc as it was his introduction to the masses. Coming from s80, he clearly dumbed it down on gkmc (lyrically). Tpab is also not as good as s80 lyrically, but tpab was basically kendrick not dumbing it down musically.

I'm not saying this in a bad way, he gave something to everybody: you have the weird outkast s---, the typical west coast sound, the ignorant song, the club b-----r, the "rnb" track, the storytelling track, the typical east coast sound, etc. with that being said, I think tpab is his best album

Tpab is praised as a musical masterpiece, it incorporates a lot of jazz elements and fact is its biggest supporters are old heads. So yeah, "jazz, musically and history" are deff gonna be their go to words, for legitimate reasons. There would be nothing wrong if Rock, history and musically was the go to words for all the elvis presley fans.
