Jan 17, 2016 jazz fusion, a style of jazz combining jazz and funk/rock, that was pretty popular 50 years ago. But I wouldn't call tpab a jazz album that's got rapping... instead it's a Hip-Hop album that's forces Jazz concepts within the musical ideas that have come to signify "Hip-Hop". It incorporate selective elements of jazz that have helped to pioneer the sound of hip hop. It really is a brilliant album

Jan 17, 2016 Tpab doesn't force unnecessary jazz elements, it incorporates all the essential jazz elements that helped shaping the sound of hip hop. we've also got to remember that Jazz is based heavily on improvisation and TPAB doesn't really feature that outside of "For free ?". For Free is probably the only real jazzy track on the album and its also the best produced song.
