It is, I just feel like it's not as amazing as d---.

But yeah, as much as I love d--- and s80, I can also give credits to tpab. Gkmc though, I'm not sure why it got all that praise...saying this as a musician myself

I feel you. I used to consider gkmc as a masterpiece, not anymore.

Tpab might have been too complex for them

On the other hand, d--- is beautifully crafted and appeals to a lot of people. It's my favorite album too. It had a profound effect on me, I never felt like this, nor related to an album like it. I think it's hard to say if it's the best. It's between TPAB and d--- for sure. They're both better than kendrick previous albums sonically

Yeah gkmc isn't bad at all but it's a very safe album for those who are not "music lovers". He definitely made that album for those who don't listen to a wide variety of music

    Good s---

To this day I still don't know which one is his best album, but it's for sure between d--- and TPAB. Gkmc is a personal favorite of mine but all things considered it has to sit at the bottom of his catalog

Yeah, I'm really happy for him, but this was my gut reaction when I read "first non-jazz/classical album to win a pulitzer for music." It's placing him in a box with relatively unaccessible "highbrow" genres that the majority of today's music consumers don't listen to.

I'm just glad this will trigger people who dismiss rap music as art. Not really worried about justifying it to anybody by placing it alongside bougie stuff. Same reason I kind of hate how people try to compare it to Shakespeare etc. It doesn't need legitimized, but it's nice for Kenny to get some recognition.

Fantano framed it as a dusty institution riding Kendrick's coat tails to be relevant again, which is fun if you buy into it.

Jesus Christ, this guy gets Cornier by the minute. I've never seen people ride someone's d-ck so hard based of the worlds most overrated album of all time.

d--- deserved it so props to Kdot

And like a lot of rappers said on twitter, it does elevate rap music as a whole.
