I don't have a dog in this fight but I'd like to point out the response to this album on this website has been eerily similar to MMLP2 and it's release at SL.

Horrible album. He definitely went down hill with this one in my opinion. If he would have created a good kid maad city part 2, I would have fell inlove with it. but this seems very boring. Collapse

Was reading the 0 reviews of TPAB, I mean how anyone could rate this 0 out of 10 is ridiculous.

I enjoyed it but I'm certainly not in that camp that's calling it the best album of the decade. People can f--- right off with that. It had some incredible songs(King Kunta, Wesley's Theory, How Much A Dollar Cost), it had some good songs and it had some songs that put me to sleep( admittedly that had a lot to do with the production. That "boo boo" song was an immediate skip though.)

It's frustrating because I think Kendrick is insanely talented but he tries to hard to be different and in my case a lot of the times it's either not very accessible or really corny to me. He needs to let Dre produce an entire album of his and put out a real classic.

Listened to the full thing a few times now but other than U, Wesley's Theory and King Kunta I don't see myself wanting to replay other tracks. The repeated "I remember you was conflicted...." skit is annoying as h--- though, even though I understand it's function for the narrative. Reminded me of Daft Punk's Giorgio by Moroder, kinda cool the first few times, then it got old and annoying real quick. For now I'd give this about a 7/10.

    Bring on SHMG.

These are the type of "fans" I f---ing hate. Honestly this just shows that he wasn't a fan of the gkmc story/concept and lyricism. He's just a fan of the mainstream appeal and hard hitting beats on maad city and backseat freestyle.

    :pac:

Lol, I'm pretty sure that is just people joking around. I f---ing hope so at least. I believe it possibly could end up being the album of the decade for some people but I think it is waaaay too early to say one way or another.

I think after the hype of a new album has died down for me that I'll prefer listening to GKMC but TPaB will have the longer legacy and probably deservedly so. I just feel like GKMC will be easier to get into for a lot of people. For me, GKMC always felt like an album to be listened to as an album rather than individual tracks but I feel like this album is even more-so like that.
