    Nah but it's pretty much certified he wrote jesus walks, there is even a reference track floating around I believe, plus other songs he is uncredited for. Kanye fans know rhymefest been around ye from the very start

    The name could very much suggest that. And while the ghostwriting past may be obscure... never heard of him??? Like come on he is featured on one of the bonus tracks on late registration in the japanese version I believe. The track was called we can make it better with talib and common rhymefest and q tip (if I'm not mistaken)

    When you're a songwriter, you know what you're signing up for, and rhymefest has been bitter about it the whole time even though he's credited and not even a ghostwriter. Trying to say rhymefest is responsible for Kanye's career is just a cheap attempt to take away his success/artistry. Yes, rhymefest has helped write songs, and yes, lots of other people have too, but the difference between kanye and many other people is he'll credit every person who had anything to do with a song even if they just wrote one line. Since MBDTF had to an extent 808s he's always had that "rap camp" effort for all his albums where he invites everyone to give their input and contribute. All writers need editors.

    I never said without him there would be no kanye. However, he has contributed and he has stated a couple of times that he has written songs where he is uncredited. He is not the only one to make this claim. I believe consequence has said that he has writtten the will smith line on the glory and nobody gave him credit, amomg other lines. So there is a reasonable doubt. Only thing I claim is that kim could stop acting like rhymefest is a nobody cause to me that's exactly the type of atitude that gets kanye to stop being in touch with day one collaborators such as glc.

    That's fair, I suppose we can never no for sure if everyone is being credited—however from my perspective it looks like kanye gives more credit than the average bear. But Consequence also has a history of being a leech and telling people he was in A Tribe Called Quest (when he 100% was not) just because he was featured a bunch on Beats Rhymes, and Life.

    Yeah I actually just read rhymefest's response to kim in full and came to say that I believe what he said there for the most part.

    Kanye does indeed give more credit than others, like all day has 20+writers alone.
    Now consequence def isn't atcq, but I will say he is like part of that extended family. He is atcq just as much as busta is, since phife died tip ali and jarobi have been bringig cons and busta everywhere+multiple features on the last tribe album.

    That's true, but Busta never said he was in ATQC. They're def both part of the extended family, but for example I never considered Cappadonna officially part of the Wu-Tang Clan until RZA said he was. I don't think you can say you're in a group unless the other members say so.

    I agree on that; just saying I understand where he comes from, not that I agree or respect the statement. If I were him I def wouldn't have said that
