It really is. Also, thanks for posting so many movies in this thread. I am not a big movie person and there are so many great movies I’ve never seen. It’s nice to have this thread to reference when me and my girl are looking for something to watch.

Chinatown

awesome performances by jack and the woman who has the other lead role. this movie is a very well done drama/mystery that keeps the viewer entertained throughout. it also doesn't have a predictable ending and doesn't drag. great stuff

Yesterday (2019)

its a solid film centered around a relationship between two childhood friends. i love the Beatles, so i figured i would enjoy this and i very much did. it's a feel good picture with some problems, but hard to deny its enjoyable

Rocketman (2019)

pretty good movie. they show the good and bad times of his biggest years and the guy who played Elton in this movie was fantastic. i don't know much about him, but i thought he did a great job. i also like how they tackled how he had to deal with the backslash from being a h----------. back then it seems like it wasn't accepted as much as it is today. not perfect, but a good film that i enjoyed and would recommend

  Boyle's sharp flow drives this impassioned film project where fantasy meets reality in a unique and unprecedented way. The Beatles music has never been illustrated as more alien, yet never been realized as more human than how the story tracks Andy's journey and the world's response to 'his' music.
  
  The cliche love story takes primary foothold here, though, as it transforms fantasy back to earth and grounds Andy's journey as a whole. This helps buttress our emotional commitment but also waylays the potential of its original feat of making the Beatles new again.

  Despite its look--superficial, cliche, everything I dislike in film--Always be my Maybe has heart. It is still pop storytelling, but it's the kind you can appreciate--well intentioned and executed, funny, and entertaining.

  Elton's story, told through beautiful music and captured by a transformative performance from Egerton, is one to behold and admire.
  
  The execution, however, misses the mark at times when the drama becomes too fanciful, superficial, and contrary to how things probably actually were.
  
  So, while expressive and genuine, the film isn't particularly authentic as a portrayal of the real man.

  Stunning cinematography and pacing--as always with Tarr.
  
  Echoes Rear Window's voyeurism and mystery; long takes reveal to us the outward happenings while at once exposing the protagonist's psychology through the act of viewing.
  
  The Man from London joins part way and binds these two forces, ultimately driving each party to their conclusions.
  
  An intricate play.
