    that sounds like the set list when I saw her...she had a part of her set where her guitarist did a solo because he currently lives in the city we were in...she also did a Purple Rain tribute. I'm sorry to hear about your date....I took my sister as my date lol, but maybe you can take her to another concert if shes not seeing anyone!

    same I don't remember if she was THAT late but her DJ was really good at keeping the crowd entertained and the people didn't mind waiting

    they played purple rain when i saw her too, but lauryn herself didn't play it.........the DJ played it BEFORE she came out while everyone was waiting for her

    unfortunately, i've only been to about 15 concerts. i didn't discover how fun/how much i enjoy them until about 3 years ago

    of those 15 concerts, the only artists who played other ppl's songs was paul mccartney who did a tribute to jimi hendrix by playing "foxey lady" and last night when lauryn hill out of no where starting singing sweetest taboo.

    so no, i wasn't aware that its a normal thing for artists to play other ppl's songs at their concerts
