Aug 5, 2015 Sure, they were independent. But they were making the most mainstream sounding Rap songs that sounded like they could be on Kidz Bop.
Aug 5, 2015 I'm asking why you think that it's insincere. That's always come off as groundless criticism to me.
Aug 5, 2015 I'm not talking about the music, just the success. Indy artists struggle to sell 100,000, these guys sold 1.4 million. It's good for the industry, because if independent artists can have that level of success, then it takes the power away from record labels.
Aug 5, 2015 It's the radio runs that perpetuated that opinion or me, the manner in which he reflected back on the track.
Aug 5, 2015 I'm from Seattle and I don't think anyone here would question that I support gay rights to the fullest. But I think Same Love is a horrible/corny song. I don't doubt that he was sincere in making it, I just think he's oblivious.
Aug 5, 2015 Nothing like a Drake fan questioning an artist's sincerity. Very fair stance to have. I think it's tender even if Mack's lyrics get a little hokey. The beat and chorus are great.
Aug 5, 2015 I actually like the song...as a Pop song...but I feel like if it blows up it'll probably still get Hip Hop award nominations, which kind of pisses me off.
Aug 5, 2015 Again, not relevant to my opinion about Same Love. He gave the topic one bar lol: Cops are killing people with they arms up And your main focus is tryna harm us?
Aug 5, 2015 Oh OK. One bar is OK, he just shouldn't be spitting about the struggles of police brutality because it doesn't fit his image.
