Apr 2, 2017 if u need a link to the new Cemu (1.7.4) lemme know fambos (you can donate on patreon and get a link instantly, but you can always just get it free online like i did) once you got that just download the BotW wii u rom from somewhere online, should be around 10gb's -before you download- from what I've read AMD GPU's aren't very good with emulating, though some are working a lot have issues. SO if you've got an AMD card don't expect this to work amazingly. Intel chipsets and NVIDIA are the way to go for this apparently and cheap NVIDIA cards apparently run this no problems. @Mike Tyson i made this thread for you
Apr 2, 2017 I don't mind pirating a game if you can't afford to play it otherwise, but if you have i thought it was open source?
Apr 2, 2017 I think it is open source, but their's an actual team trying to develop and code the program so it works better etc. They have a patreon, which is legal. basically you choose out of the goodness of your heart to donate money and you'll be thanked by the team by getting the newer updates a week early. Seems to be a pretty big outburst cause of the emulation of BotW/the patreon. the guy who made cemu is meant to be getting like over $100k from donations this year alone. In a legal way, you've done the right thing. Technically if i wanted to legally emulate i'd have to buy a physical copy of BotW first. but like whotf would enforce this? the emulation police lol? If you have a decent PC/screen though you may want to check out cemu BotW cause it has like 1080p native +4k res+ a few other cool little things unavailable to the switch/wii u vers
Apr 2, 2017 holy f---...sorry for the incomplete post, it wasn't even supposed to be sent. Anyways, the wii u is dead, i don't think anything is immoral with emulating dead consoles. The console manufacturer stopped making money after the last shipment, and it's the same with the game publisher. Nintendo have made f---ing bank with the wii, so my conscience is clear with emulating a few games from it. Just need to get a wiimote (my old one broke) to use with my nunchucks
Apr 2, 2017 yeah there's no problem with it imo. most people don't care enough/are too lazy to go download stuff and configure things, theyd rather just buy the console turn it on and play. I've read people use cemu with a ps4/xbone controller, obv wouldn't work with every game but that's what i'm planning on using (hope its not fkd)
Apr 2, 2017 Copying the game in anyway is illegal, so no, you would still be playing an illegal copy. Unless you create a peripheral that allows your PC to directly read the WIIU discs then run it through the emulator (although there would be a huge amount of problems) it would always be illegal.
Apr 2, 2017 There's a clause in copyright law that allows it. it's why P2P is so borderline in terms of getting shutdown/still being allowed to run. i don't remember specifics but the copyright law is something liek "if you have the physical media, you're allowed to request digital files relating to the media via file sharing means" i think it was more music related when it was passed or whatever, but it covers a broad area and pretty much all media. From memory it had something to do with people buying cassette tapes and as casette players were phased out it seemed reasonable that you could go online and download a didgital 320kbps file of the same casette tape. it was something like that. but basically if it was illegal, anything cemu is doing, then Nintendo would r--- them harder than the nianjing massacre.
Apr 2, 2017 I cried the day nintendo shut down coolrom. mostly because i reset my pc at the time so my roms were gone. They might be back up (they fooled nintendo by removing the pages, but the download links to the roms still exist, it's pretty hard to get the list though.
