The ''low'' points of this album is deff the features.
Nas feels like a weird choice along with Travis after hearing the album a couple of times. Imagine if this n----- had brought in Adele or JT for a feature
Who would you have liked to see instead of these features? btw I f---ing love Halsay on The Feeling, only thing that bothers me extremely much is the ''drop'' at the end around 3:07, like what the f---.. Is it only me who think it sounds outta place?

This album will always be remembered for the album that gave Justin a spot between the artists at SX80, King Bieber

Nas is a great artistic choice, Adele would've prolly overshadowed him in every way imaginable and she's kinda out of Justin's lane and a JT mesh wouldn't exactly seem right at this point in his career.. he still tries to find a reputable image and sound to work from.

Journals already did (for me atleast)

I probably never said this before, but I won't regret saying it now: To be honest, Journals will go down as one of the most underrated projects from any artist ever. But the press he deliberately attracted around that time kind of jinxed the chances of it being given the attention and critical acclaim it truly deserves. I still think it's his strongest and most introspective effort to date. He vocally improved on Purpose. But the production took a real regressive blow in terms of transitioning from an album like Journals with stellar production to the overproduced Pop Platform that became the focal point of sonic and thematic elements on Purpose.

I can't say i prefer Purpose over Journals to be honest and i totally feel you on the notion of it being overlooked by a bad rep/image.

Can also say i feel your criticism on the production, i thought it was a tasteful yet less daring take on modern pop.

Btw your pen game is really good

It's just not an album I would expect to see Nas on, in my opinion he doesn't really belong on it and doesn't really contribute with anything tbh. I know she would, but when amazing vocal singers collab they don't tryna overshadow each other, so I really really believe that it could have given us an amazing song.

I agree it's unconventional but that's exactly why i can appreciate it. They go well together i thought and also leave enough room for both their views.


I dunno if Adele could cope with being second/shared wheel tbh, nor do i think it would be flattering to hear. But i wouldn't exactly oppose it happening..

I love Squid's enthusiasm when it comes to Travis tho
