Feb 2, 2018 lol I couldn't have either, I was half-convinced he was making satire cuz those two videos seemed so self aware/funny. And I think they were self-aware (and his music still is)...he started rapping just because Smokepurrp told him to so I dunno how seriously he was taking music at that point. I wanna know what the turning point was.
Feb 2, 2018 At this point nothing surprises me anymore. This song, and Pump as a whole, are a perfect storm of what the internet can do for a rapper that has a strong understanding of a counter-culture and bringing it to a national forefront; short running time, fun visuals and catchy--albeit repetitive, lyrics. Happy for his success, I'll be shocked if he can reach this height again in the long-term
Feb 2, 2018 right lol although he has quite a bit more appeal to me than smokepurrp just off his voice alone but SP got a couple jawns if i had to pinpoint the precise turning point, it’d definitely have to be gucci g---. he had like 15 million plays on youtube in two weeks and that wasn’t even off the video. hook is pure infectious and pretty much everything bighead touches turns to gold, production is amazing
