Feb 17, 2017 Another generic pop song. Such a shame. Thank god there are such bands like a Thousand Foot Krutch that still loyal to their roots and making more cathy songs than LP.
Feb 17, 2017 Let's get this straight, Hybrid Theory and Meteora (Minutes to Midnight at a push) was Linkin Park untouchable. The closest we've got to this since was the Rakim feature in Guilty All The Same - ironically the rest of the album was sub-par. I was so hyped for this song! First listen however I was VERY underwhelmed, like the most I've ever been listening to an LP song for the first time. It's starting to creep up on me now and it's got me thinking twice... Chester's vocals are weak AF imo; Kiiara was actually a highlight.
Feb 17, 2017 I feel like this might be an Eminem where they release a pop hit, then the actual album comes out (I hope) And MtM is "A Push"?
Feb 17, 2017 The sound of the album will be the same as 'Heavy'. Mike did an interview yesterday and said as much, so don't expect the rest of the album to be less pop. Sorry to crush all dwindling hope. Don't get me wrong, I love MTM, but musically it's not on the same level as Meteora or HT. I kind of wanted them to go down the QWERTY route, but instead got Valentines Day - maybe i'm just being bitter
Feb 17, 2017 there goes any hope I had for LP to return to the good old days And I agree it isn't as great, but the album happened because of what happened in Chesters life. Its easily their 3rd best album, and there are some great songs on it
Feb 17, 2017 Wow somehow I forgot about Guilty All the Same. Man that was vintage LP Like I said I'm in the minority, I LOVE a thousand suns. I just feel like evrything since then they haven't quite delivered on their statements about their sound and are instead becoming less and less enthused in their creation process (no matter how much otherwise they would have you think) PS I still like tracks off their past couple albums
Feb 17, 2017 Tracklist added to OP and here. It's only 10 songs Nobody Can Save Me Good Goodbye Talking to Myself Battle Symphony Invisible Heavy Sorry for Now Halfway Right One More Light Sharp Edges
Feb 17, 2017 The band is going to be too busy playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in March and April.
Feb 17, 2017 Ugh. If the rest of the album is like Heavy.... A Thousand Suns was their last great album IMO. Living Things and THP were okay. HT>Meteora>Reanimation>ATS>MTM>THP>LT
Feb 17, 2017 Yeah dude the build up to a thousand suns was very different to anything since then. It was very important for them to experiment like that. Funnily enough living things I actually enjoyed. It was a solid effort but it lacked that magic that the first 3 albums had imo. On a separate note, I feel like the band has an unhealthy reliance on mike to take the reins on their direction. Like, they'll do whatever that guys says. Whilst shinoda is one of the guys I look up to in life, it kind of feels like the rest of them (apart from maybe brad) are just studio musicians helping mike realise his vision - this new album being a very good example.
Feb 24, 2017 Well...they've just rehersed a 'Hybrid Theory' version of the song and it sounds DOOOOOOOOPE
