Okay so 1) I was never talking s---, I just said the film was bad imo.
2) I never even praised The Walking Dead, I just wanted you to explain what you meant by ''You have a Walking Dead avy''

Kinda does. Especially after 5 seasons if it's bad #s wouldn't be good and vice versa with good shows. If no one watches and the word spreads that it's good more people are gonna watch.

P.s I've never watched an episode of the walking dead

Yeah that is true but i think there is an argument there that one is a reality show. So girls found it to be 'good' because they were able to turn it on every week and watch a s--- load of drama packed into an hour. Many people also wanted to emulate their 'lifestyle'

Most re-watchable movie ever.

Word of mouth means little for TV, and even less for film. A cheap $5 million art movie like Spring Breakers is not going to draw similar audiences in no matter how many people talk about it. Exposure, ease of access, narrative/character accessibility, and viewer expectations are all significantly more important to a show or films viewership than word of mouth is. Spring Breakers came out with all those things going against it.

The Wire got average ratings in its run, and now it's universally considered to be one of the greatest shows of all time. NCIS had 20 million people watch it's season 10 premiere back in 2012 as Breaking Bad got just under 3 million viewers a few months before. Viewership means nothing.

It was cringeworthy back when I used to watch it and saw on FB people giving play by play and posting status' like it was the best show ever


Like, I feel bad for those people who must not know what real quality television is if they are acting this way over TWD

lots of people watch twd, breaking bad, the sopranos and a bunch of other good quality shows, youre acting as if all people who watch walking dead are dumb for watching a decent show with a nice story...

and it makes you look more dumb.

I'm not just hating. I watched the show for the first few seasons and although I always felt that it wasn't as good as I'd want it to be I continued watching. Eventually I realized that an hour on my Sunday night wasn't worth the quality of television I was watching.

I didn't mean that no one who watches The Walking Dead also watches quality television shows such as the two you mentioned, I just mean out of the staggering # who watch The Walking Dead (it's HUGE), a large quantity do in fact not know what quality drama television is. It's because it's the most popular show on Television. It attracts those viewers who normally only watch CSI shows, Sitcoms and the like more than any other big name television show. There's no debating that.

Trust me-- a good 80% of the people I know who watch The Walking Dead (and of course I know a lot of people who do) definitely do NOT know what quality television is and definitely DO think The Walking Dead is quality television. And it upsets me and always has, even when I watched it myself.

The character writing is mediocre.

The storylines and payoffs are amateurish.

I'm not being a hater when I say it, either.

When I was watching Breaking Bad, I would freakout with satisfaction of what I was watching in the episode so far in almost every episode and would turn to my clock to see that I was ONLY HALFWAY THROUGH THE EPISODE.

In comparison, when I watched The Walking Dead, I spent the entire time waiting for something good to happen to fulfill the episode, would turn to my clock and see that there were only 10 minutes left of the show and then go to sleep unsatisfied.

That sums up those shows.

fair enough, but... ive known you for years and have never once seen you say anything other than "oh these walking dead fans are dumb etc" being srs btw

this is most certainly true, but even then i dont see the judgement on the show, and the fans with brains who have seen d--- near every quality drama show, fair.

I'm not actively trying to diss the people who view the show tbh, you wanna watch it--fine. I just wish the people that do only watch it knew how great television can actually get. Because TWD is definitely not an example of that.
