Feb 12, 2017 This is actually a really good album. I actually got some "old Lupe" vibes from it. Especially the last 3 or 4 songs. My only fault with it would be that it jumps between genres too much. One minute hiphop, then trap, then some weird dance beat. But other than that I really like it. A strong 7.5 after a couple of listens.
Feb 14, 2017 I play the first 7 tracks without a problem, transitions effortlessly but the second half of the album is unbearable starting at Law. It's the execution of the songs. The formula he uses, it's this cringe EDM-Pop chorus structure he used on Lasers. More Than My Heart is better then the the four track that preceded it. The first half of the album he sounds at ease, like he's having fun with rap.
Feb 14, 2017 This is exactly how I feel. It really adds some solidity to my opinion that "Lasers" was Lupe's creation - and not something that was forced upon him by Atlantic. That seems like a huge publicity stunt at the time. Lupe shows glimpses of him being an absolutely incredible rapper throughout the album, but it's few and far between, and the production really doesn't seem to suit his style.
Feb 17, 2017 If he rated his own album a 7/10 why the f--- did he put it out? I'm not even going to Spotify it.
Feb 28, 2017 Any songs like "chopper?" That's my fav lupe song. I like simple looping beats and just straight rapping
Aug 18, 2017 Between these two tracks Drogas: Waves is going to be an infinitely better album and perhaps the most potent material in Lupe's career since The Cool.
Aug 21, 2017 It was an alright album, deleted High (because of that cringe hook), Pick up the phone, wild child, and Law. Otherwise, the rest of the tracks are great bangers especially Jump and k---
