    Nutrition is a MUST. I worked out for months in the gym religiously with little to show for it until I started counting macros semi-loosely and then more seriously after that.

    Weighed in yesterday at 192. I carb-loaded pasta and about 6 litres of water to exaggerate my before number for the competition. Woke up this morning at 187.5 which is about my standard weight the past few months. Hit the gym hard and kept my meal plan to a tee. For supper I slow-cooked pork loin roast with mushrooms/onions and some beans. Gonna cook up some red thai curry sauce and go to town in about 15 minutes.

    @M Solo how you doing? I weighed in this morning at 185, which is right on my pace of a pound per week loss. I started doing Crossfit workouts (crossfit.com) mainly because of the heavy weight component in a lot of them.

    Closer to the end of my competition I'm gonna need the best tips for getting rid of all my water weight. I have a rough idea from my former roommate who is an MMA fighter

    d--- I forgot I made this thread. My bad. I'm doing good. Very good. I've been focused on this cut and am losing body fat everyday without dropping much weight on the scale which is a first for me.

    Essentially what I'm doing is going low calories/carbs for 3-4 days at a time and then having a refeed meal every 4th day or so that is high in carbs and low is fat(Ben & Jerry's Fro yo>>>>>>>). Doing this keeps my metabolism going and really prevents me from hitting any fat loss plateaus. It also prevents me from losing lean muscle mass. The leaner I get the more frequently I'll need these refeeds.

    f---ing Wal Mart quit carrying the Tyson chicken I've ate the past few years and finding a suitable replacement was a huge pain in my a---. They replaced it with Foster Farms chicken and the 1.25lbs I was buying daily at 4.76 is now like 11 dollars so that's out of the equation. Luckily, a Whole Foods near me happened to have a chicken sale that was 1.99 per lb so over the course of a week I dropped like four hundred US dollars and stocked the f--- up. My freezer is nothing but chicken lol. Hopefully by the time I run out Wal-Mart will be carrying my regular chicken again. Any ideas for cheap meat would be greatly appreciated.

    Lastly, I try to do minimal cardio when I'm cutting. I try to lose as much fat as possible through weight training and nutrition and keep cardio in my back pocket until my BF gets really low and I need to get rid of that very last fat. Dieting and cardio at the same time right out the gate is equivalent to blowing your entire wad way too early and as a result it's why most people stall and/or eventually quit their diets. With that said I did my first cardio session today. I ran 5 400 meter sprints with 4-5 minutes rest in between. Afterwords I immediately did 22 minutes on the exercise bike. In the past the only cardio I've ever done is HIIT like sprints or bike sprints but after reading a new study I'm going to try this HIIT cardio immediately followed by LISS cardio because I guess it's even more efficient at burning fat than HIIT alone.

    As far as your water weight goes I have no idea how to do that and didn't for any of the magazine shoots in the past. I was always lean enough where I didn't feel like I need to. That said I wish I would have in the past and I'm going to be talking to some of my buddies who are pro bodybuilders and find out exactly what they do for shows. When I get that info I'll post whatever I can in here my man.
