Mar 25, 2024 Ngl when I heard Drown, I was super excited. And I liked the first skim through it. But Drown is still by far my favorite
Apr 2, 2024 The album isn’t terrible by any means, just impossibly bland. Really wish he’d taken the “I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize…” approach instead of catering to his fanbase and playing it as safe as possible. Between Alisha Wainwright, the Britney memoir, and widely-reported marital issues, this was a hugely missed opportunity to actually be vulnerable, tell the media to f--- off, and create compelling music. Instead, he made something completely inoffensive, pandering, and generic — the JT equivalent of Revival. Content aside, it’s remarkable that the instrumentals and beat switches on 2006's FutureSex/LoveSounds sound light years more futuristic and ambitious than anything here. What the h--- happened to Timbaland and Danja?
Apr 2, 2024 AI level of bland, so disappointing I shouldn’t have tried to cope myself into believing it was going to be anything like the golden era after we got Man of the Woods.
Apr 2, 2024 It's been a while and I listened to it once again after they hype died down for me so here's my ranking: 1. 20/20 part 1 2. Futuresex/Lovesounds 3. 20/20 part 2 4. Justified 5. EITIW 6. s--- in the woods Pretty excited about EITIW at first and it's got some good s--- (f---ing up the disco, sanctified, technicolor, drown) but the rest is pretty forgettable tbh
