Oct 28, 2016 i was wrong.... skylake = i7 gen 6 ... kaby lake would be i7 gen 7 but isn't available yet, hence them not using it. from intel's website: "Skylake is the codename for the Intel® processor microarchitecture that is the successor to the Broadwell microarchitecture. Most Skylake products are branded as 6th Generation Intel® Core™ processor"
Oct 28, 2016 i'm leaning towards the 15 inch of this: 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz 16GB 2133MHz memory 1TB PCIe-based SSD Radeon Pro 450 with 2GB memory Backlit Keyboard (English) & User's Guide Four Thunderbolt 3 ports Touch Bar and Touch ID
Oct 28, 2016 by the time these release other non apple products will release with alter specs more updated hardware etc i just think apple use people by hyping up these shiny silver thingys
Oct 28, 2016 god im in need of a new mac book but i refuse to buy the ones with the s-----y proprietary ports guess im sticking with asus
Oct 28, 2016 thunderbolt is far less "proprietary" than some of the other ports apple has released in the past. ...also, thunderbolt ports also accept USB-C input, which is likely the direction the majority of things are heading.
Oct 28, 2016 nice, i'm just copping the base 15inch. i should be good with 256GB since most of my space is taken by music, and that's all in the cloud now. 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz 16GB 2133MHz memory 256GB PCIe-based SSD1 Radeon Pro 450 with 2GB memory Four Thunderbolt 3 ports Touch Bar and Touch ID yo did they get rid of the mag safe chargers?? so if i trip over my wire now, instead of detaching, it's going to pull my whole computer down?
Oct 28, 2016 i've seen a handful of people ask about whether it's magsafe or not... it doesn't look like it based on just the physical setup, but i duno if it's been confirmed yet?
Nov 1, 2016 After lots of research I've decided that I'm jumping to Windows for my next laptop. Sorry but for the higher prices from a spec and power standpoint, they leave much to be desired and I could get more out of my money with a PC with much higher specs. Being that they're more expensive than the last generation, and only cap out at 16gb ram, and do not have the latest karby lake intel processers is disappointing. plus the port thing turned me off and for that price yout think they would add a touch screen. Sorry apple but you are no longer the innovator everybody once knew. I love apple but this is a step backwards in my opinion. I'll still stick with their iPhones though. This is just my opinion btw
Nov 1, 2016 @Slyk or anyone else who has experience with a MAC computer. would you say the mac computers are much better than a PC?
Nov 1, 2016 a lot of it comes down to personal preference. Macs are often overpriced for the hardware, but you're getting aesthetics, more attention to detail, Mac OS, Apple-ecosystem (iphone integration, etc.), dual-boot capabilities, one of the best customer services, etc.. if you're just looking for a power machine and don't care about any of the above, or it doesn't sway you enough, then save your $$$ and go with what you "need".
Nov 1, 2016 depends on what you want bro. if you just want to use a computer to browse the net, not s--- out on you, and just be a great experience every time you boot it up, then yes the macs are a lot better. but if your work makes you use a lot of PC software, or you want to do anything that requires a video card like gaming, then PC is the way to go. overall, yes macs are a lot better. my mac has both windows and OSX on it though.
Nov 1, 2016 you spend more, but these computers last for 5 years easily. my last one gave me 6 years and it still works very well (7 years later).
Nov 1, 2016 apple is r-----ed for this, but i'ma reserve judgement until i see how their new chargers work in person. mag safe was the greatest thing apple ever did with their chargers.
