Feb 16, 2016 I have met around twenty gay people in my life and nearly all of them had some sort of mental illness. This trend continues the deeper you go, like with transsexuals, who k--- themselves at alarming rates. With gays, I think it's hard for them to avoid depression. That leads to drug use for everyone, not just gays or people with gender identity disorders. h---, one of my favorite political commentators Milo is conservative yet abuses ketamine and f---s black guys, lmao. It's not normal, society tries to make it normal but it never will be normal to be gay and they will have a constant struggle with acceptance. Even now where it's supposed to be a progressive paradise, they still have trouble being accepted. Though again, I believe thst they have a right to exist and I treat them like how I'd like to be treated.
Feb 16, 2016 thats all anecdotal tho and could have an array of mitigating factors, including socioeconomic status, history of sexual abuse, and again, homophobia. like ofc theres high rates of suicides in groups that have historically been targeted either overtly through violence or via other means of discrimination. ofc "normal" is an extremely subjective word in this conversation. i imagine the majority of ppl here suffer from anxiety/depression but its not fair to make blanket assumptions about them
