Nov 22, 2015 i meant more so that i dont get forget about Daredevil lmao, i read they arent really connect at the moment thing about gotham s2 is that id need to finish s1
Nov 23, 2015 Compelling at times (Parents, Mornings) but other times felt like a scenester millennial take on Louie (Nashville comes to mind). It's good, but white people need to check their privilege on it.
Nov 23, 2015 She really was. I forget if I talked about it here but she was kind of a Manic Pixie Dream Girl... or, if not, def one of those "look, I can roll with the d00ds with my funny quips, IMNOTINSANE" chicks
Nov 23, 2015 Who else realistically pairs with Aziz Anzari's personality? He's just writing the only version of a woman who would ever fall in love with his shtick.
Nov 23, 2015 right yeah i mean... i dunno. My issue was it was so clearly: "she's perfect for him. she can rly go one-on-one with his offbeat outlook on life" it's just kind of a flat characterization. we get to see him b--- claire danes and live that renegade bachelor life... but never rly are provided insight into what makes her tick. we get more from aziz's f'in dad lolllll (who was hilarious, no doubt)
Nov 23, 2015 I think I've only seen 5 episodes, but as soon as they reintroduced her I let out a sigh. I thought it was a great one off to start the series and had no clue that this show was going in this direction. I haven't seen her interact with the boys yet, but her entire character so far feels like a symptom of Anziz more than just a poor writing. Really hoping this show doesn't go full Garden State in the episodes that I have left.
Nov 23, 2015 hmmmmmm. Don't want to give too much away. I think it's both though -- it's kind of classic writers masturbation, particularly for stand ups: http://uproxx.com/tv/2014/03/scientific-ranking-jerrys-girlfriends-seinfeld/ ultimately i see it as a fault on the writing. the show is generally pretty empathetic -- or at least self conscious of its own efforts -- so this feels like a small blind spot.
Nov 23, 2015 Rachel actually seemed cool at first, then her and Dev's back-and-forth grew insanely annoying, Morning episode in particular. She was nearly bipolar. Mad because Dev wanted her to keep the apartment clean? Get outta here. Spoiler When she showed up in the finale with pink hair and told Dev she was moving to Tokyo (without even talking with him about it), it confirmed all my suspicions that she is the absolute worst. Dev dodged a bullet. So satisfied that didn't chase her. Really hoping they don't bring her back for some season 2 long lost love redemption plot. The wedding scene in the finale summed up all my thoughts on life.
Nov 23, 2015 99% agree. The wedding scene was a tad fatalistic re: relationships... i could see u liking it ha
Nov 23, 2015 2nd ep was better than the first but I find a lot of the show super awkward still Hopefully it keeps growing into itself throughout the season? Find out next time on Narsh watches Master of None
Nov 23, 2015 It thought it was surprisingly good...especially as far at Netflix shows go. They've made a lot of shows that get buzz but not very many of them are actually that good. You're the Worst > Master of None tho
Nov 23, 2015 That weird f--- with the dice, when him and luther in the back of the truck "WHAT IS YOUR ANSWER?!?!?!?" "the A between the L and R" GRATATATAAAAAA
Nov 24, 2015 was just about to tag you and say 'parents' was much better than the first ep..the whole first 5 minutes was way too clever I see what you mean about it being a bit awkward at moments but I think that's just gonna always be part of the show and we need to just embrace the awkwardness lol
