Sep 12, 2015 I haven't read a word in this thread yet. I'm watching credits............. If this was the end of the game................... and the story doesn't continue when these credits end....................... ..................................................................................
Sep 12, 2015 I know exactly what you mean. It's rewarding doing missions then hearing ocelot praising your actions, the actions you took, not the actions the game made you take.
Sep 13, 2015 One of these best games ever in terms of gameplay itself (this is objective, come at me). The story falls apart in Chapter 2 though and the ending is unsatisfactory IMO
Sep 14, 2015 Finally beat the whole story (i assume anyways, maybe we'll find more story hidden) but g.d. that ending was intense
Sep 14, 2015 Yeah it's done, If you do the wandering soldier side op's missions you will get Paz's ending
Sep 14, 2015 HOLY f---. Just did mission 46... HOLY f---. But yeah, I seriously think this game doesn't have an "end game" there's just stories you unlock as you play. (I read mission 46 has a LOT of requirements to unlock, i got it with only doing 130 side ops and I still have 10 main missions to do???) There does seem to be an "end game" to each character's story in a sense. Some guy working on the game also confirmed that there's things in the game people haven't found yet... someone asked him about a cutscene in particular and said "did you cut it? its not in the game" his reply was "r u sure lol, i doubt anyone has unlocked that this early into release" There's also all that s--- with Quiet, but I wont go into that cause its mad spoilers. Feels like there's still something left to do. @Thili @Immy check this tho, i have a theory... Spoiler: dont read this if u havent beat mission 46 its a spoiler f--- off. After you beat mission 46 and you unlock all that s--- etc. Did you guys go back and listen to the cassette recordings? they're cool as f--- if your a fan of the series and there's also what sounds like hints to more things in game. For example, there's a recording of Boss(the real 1, not the phantom) talking to ocelot. They discuss how Boss is going off to go create outer haven while your phantom does all the stuff there in africa/afghan etc. towards the end of it though ocelot starts saying something like "bla bla nobody will know its not the real you boss bla bla i wont even know. I'm gonna self hypnotize myself to forget, it's not a tactic i haven't used before bla bla Boss at some point though, I will need you to remind me of you so i remember you" something like that. So i'm not sure if they just imply that ocelot at your mother base in-game just knows now, or if you can somehow trigger a bit of dialogue somehow so that you remind him your not the real Boss. To add to that, I found out last night while watching a random video, that some of your cassette tapes if played through the idroid loudspeaker trigger things in-game. The afghan lullaby or whatever, puts nearby enemies to sleep. I'm thinking that maybe if you play a certain cassette around Ocelot he'll remember (Or even just playing certain tapes in certain areas will unlock some more juicy story s----s). Thoughts?
Sep 15, 2015 Cool theory, but Spoiler I'm pretty sure all of the gameplay after episode 46 is non-canon and just in there for 100% purposes. The final cutscene jumps the game 11 years into the future to Operation Intrude in Metal Gear 1, when Big Boss' war against Zero, in which Ocelot is a major player, is in full effect, so he presumably regains his memory at some point after episode 45
Sep 15, 2015 Spoiler yeah I looked into that scene some more after beating the game... some data miners found the unfinished final boss battle/mission 51. It's where you go to eli's Island of child soldiers to fight sahelanthropus you can look the cutscene up on YouTube.honestly would have made the ending a lot better. After beating this game tho, I'm feeling some type of Phantom pain myself knowing I can't get quiet back and that there's still things left unanswered - it's the first time I've loved and hated a game before, it honestly just f---s with your emotions
Sep 17, 2015 I just got the mission and i'm on mission 23 or so. The new engine on this game and the graphics all the way up as far as i can get them on pc, downsampled to 1440p/2k resolution looks f---ing unreal. The whole team management system is dope and really in depth, I was surprised at how much of an impact you can really make on your game by how you manage your team. Also the buddys that you can get to go on missions with you are extremely effective, Quiet in particular is the one that surprised me most. I destroy anywhere with her or DD. I literally avoided looking at any and every piece of footage for this game until i got it because I wanted it to all be fresh and new, I did play ground zeroes though. But all in all, as a Huge fan of metal gear growing up, this game has completely exceeded my expectations by far. If it stays this consistenly good until the final mission than this could possibly be GOTY for me.
Sep 17, 2015 Bruh, I binge played for 2 days straight lmao. I dont do that s--- for any other game, except when gta 5 first came out on 360.
Sep 19, 2015 Spoiler: spoiler Just beat mission 46 last night....Hideo still making plot twists that alter how you percieve the entire series
Nov 27, 2015 Bought this today from Black Friday. Got it for 49.99 and Dying Light for 29.99. I had MGS4 but didn't really play it much as I just lost interest. I heard some people love this game and some hate it because it's not like classic MGS. I'll give it a shot. Got winter holidays coming up in a few weeks
Nov 28, 2015 MGS5 is a fantastic game. It's massive and you can do whatever you want in it. It's one of my favorite games of all time.
Nov 28, 2015 This is probably the best game I've ever played from a gameplay perspective. Whether or not you enjoy the story depends on your tolerance for convoluted nonsense
