Nov 28, 2015 I'll see how it goes. I was pumped to try it. Wasn't going to get any games but with this for 49 and Dying Light for 29 I figured why not. It looked really cool when I watched the review back in September. I'm kind of a "meh" when it comes to storylines in video games. If it's got solid gameplay and is fun then I enjoy it really.
Nov 28, 2015 It pains me that you are going to play such a story-driven game without playing the other 4 games, but I home you enjoy it because it has the best gameplay of the series.
Nov 28, 2015 s--- lol, maybe I'll check storyline highlights on youtube? I know some hardcores don't like it because it's not so much linear but more open world. I'll probably be lost but ah well lol. I got lost in Skyrim because I just didn't play the main quest. Once I got free exploration I did side quests and everything. To this day I still say Skyrim is the biggest game I've ever played content wise. You'd reach a new city and BOOM a ton of new quests and everything. I haven't played the game for a while, and don't want to because I know I'll get hooked on it again haha. But ya, I'll check some vids on youtube before diving into it!
Nov 28, 2015 Not to sway you away from your effort but MGS is such a deep ridiculous story that it may be hard to grasp through highlights on youtube...Good luck though hope you enjoy the game
Nov 28, 2015 MGS5's plot is probably the easiest to grasp for newcomers. I mean, it makes no sense at all, as is MGS tradition, but it's specifically written to appeal to a wider audience than the previous games. You might miss some in-jokes and callbacks to earlier games in the series, but you should be able to understand everything that's going on with no knowledge of the overall plot of the series
Nov 29, 2015 I took a break from work to play. I only had an hour to try it out. Just got past the prologue (at least I think?) in that time. Haven't really had a chance to try it out otherwise. I don't think it's as heavy as the cut scenes were in MGS4 so I should be able to see if I like it or not next time I play lol.
Dec 20, 2015 Been diving into this now that I'm on winter holidays. I really like it, the open world aspect to it is great. I know people complained because it's not linear like other MGS games but d--- it's fun. I'm sure it'll get old throwing my ammo magazines to trick guards into interrogating them but so far I'm having a blast. I know another complaint was it's too open, not enough guards or being busy. I mean it is Afghanistan and pretty much a desert setting. I'm not having any issues so far. We'll see how far I can progress over the next few days.
Dec 20, 2015 Just got this game, loving the open world and the motherbase mechanics. Game Of The Year IMO
