Oct 19, 2017 Seriously though you don't cover rap songs. Remixes sure don't cover them though that takes the point out of rap.
Oct 19, 2017 it shows off pure rapping skills like flow, delivery, voice, etc., though, as opposed to focusing on an artist's lyrical ability or whatever
Oct 19, 2017 No the only thing it shows is voice and delivery, it doesn't show flow or lyrical ability when you have someone who already figured it out for you. Anybody can cover a rap song its not hard at all aslong as you can speak you can do it, so magical. Covers that change the music or remixes I respect but not what he's doing, especially when his delivery is poor.
Oct 19, 2017 I say all that to say just write some bars to the instrumental and this time include it instead of rapping his bars
Oct 19, 2017 I think there's nothing wrong with covering rap songs, so I'm gonna have to disgree with you on this. Sometimes, artists change certain lyrics and deliver it in another way.
Oct 19, 2017 Yeah lots of people do cross genre 'covering' which I respect. Changing the music or delivery but Yeezy did not he put on his headphones, rapped along to it poorly and then uploaded it without an instrumental, it was not good.
