Oct 8, 2024 Childs Play (2019) After seeing M3gan a few weeks ago I decided to give this another watch. Before my thoughts about the movie I just need to get one thing off my chest: Aubrey Plaza. The things I would do for a night of passion with her. I've watched dozens of movies the past few weeks that had pretty women in it so this seems kinda random, she isn't even the prettiest. But I got a soft spot for her, so g.d. hot. Okay, the movie: this obviously is more M3gan than Childs Play (OG) and M3gan actually borrowed a lot from this movie. What I don't get is that they chose to call the characters Andy Barcley, Karen, Mike and... Chucky, who got that name so randomly. Because this is an entirely different take, and Chucky was Charles Lee Ray's nickname. That said, this was a great different take! The original is a classic, and a serial killer in a doll was a very original idea. And I can watch that one every year. However I think this one is scarier. A human, even a f----- up human, I find less scary than a machine with no conscience at all. Buddi was creepy from the start and I love how they used AI/machines at the end and w the car to bring chaos -which they also copied in M3gan-. The kills were dope, the doll is legit creepy, the story is cool. Really good movie imo. They should have cut ties with the OG completely so people don't compare them. Good movie, but not something I would watch every year. Well except for: 7/10 for the movie!
Oct 8, 2024 right right, i just feel like it is one of THOSE movies that you have to see. Similar to a fight club, pulp fiction, etc.
Oct 8, 2024 Should've made Joker 2 a bonus movie in my marathon because it was scary how mediocre and average it was, almost even brought my headache from thursday back
Oct 8, 2024 As time has gone on, I've found less love for this movie. M3gan did it so much better and they didn't do it under the name of an established horror franchise to get tickets sold. The kills were fun and Mark Hamill as Chucky was surprisingly entertaining. This is for 2Pac!
Oct 8, 2024 Yeah M3gan is definitely better! Agree. But it did copy a lot from this movie. And yeah like I said they should have given this a different name, and the doll a different look, to not make people compare it to the actual Chucky movies. Still this was fun. * would have given it a 6.5 if it had no AP though *
Oct 8, 2024 So now its done for a few days, when I'm back in Holland I'll pick this up again! Maybe I'll watch one during the flight but since its only 2 hours probably not
Oct 8, 2024 I still need to go see it since I saw the first one in theaters. If it’s bad my friends and I will just make fun of it anyway so it should still be a good time
Oct 8, 2024 I just watched Annabelle Comes Home again out of boredom. The girls were cool, the rest could be better.
Oct 8, 2024 Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) Second movie in a row where a disturbed kid grows up and becomes a murderer. Here starts my Christmas horror marathon to lead up to Terrifier 3 on Friday, and I thought this movie was pretty good! The story was done really well and I'm glad we got to spend time with Billy before his life was turned around for the worse. Also, we got some time with adult Billy before he started his killing spree. The character was built out very well and the movie felt very easy to follow along. Pretty short too, clocking in at about an hour and 20 (i believe the version i watched was an uncut and unrated version, as there were some scenes that were super grainy compared to others and mostly happened during the k--- sequences). Overall, a great Christmas horror flick and a fun watch! Def recommend for the holiday season. 8/10 Oct 2024 Horror Binge Ranking: 1. A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) - 10 2. IT (2017) - 9 3.
