Oct 29, 2024 Next 2 I watched today; Childs Play The original. Heidi hooo! After watching this again its really cool how they managed to connect Curse to this one. Brad does such a great job being a huge a------. And yeah agree w Marsh, Andy is great. So is Karen. The car scene with Mike is awesome and yeah as much as I like the different take they did with Chikds Play 2019 and M3gan, having an actual person be in the doll is just a lot of fun. 'Chucky says aunt maggie is a real b---- and got what she deserved' was hilarious. Even though its not meant to be a comedy at all, the combination of fun and slasher is so much better here than when they actually try to be funny (like Freaky/Happy Death Day). It's a classic and next year I'm gonna watch part 2 as well seeing the praise in here. 8.5/10 The Fog Technically this isn't a Halloween movie but it could have been tbh. It has John Carpenter and Debra Hill as producers, it has Jamie Lee Curtis (Laurie), Nancy Kyes (Annie), Charles Cyphers (Sheriff Bracket) from the original Halloween. It has Janet Leigh from H20 -also Jamie Lee's mother irl-, Tom Atkins from Halloween 3... and Adrienne Barbeau reprised here role in Tales Of Halloween! The music is also as good and creepy. A small town, campfire like story, literally in this movie, no hidden messages just a creepy legend, executed perfectly. Same as Halloween 1 and 3. I really need to check out more JC movies because these are the kind of movies I love!! Great story, creepy music and vibe, a must see imo. 8/10
Oct 29, 2024 That's my main problem with Ends tbh, it's a mixed result but I like that they tried to tackle different topics with each movie cause there's only so much you can do with the franchise. I just wish it was a bit more planned out and I think people would have actually liked it, I'm expecting Halloween Kills and Ends revisionism at some point in the future where people like them tho.
Oct 29, 2024 You could tell they really cared about the franchise. It’s just the execution doesn’t always work out the way you’d hope
Oct 29, 2024 It's also a bit unfortunate that they might be peoples only exposure to David Gordon Green and Danny McBride's writing when they genuinely have made some of the most enjoyable TV shows I've seen in (somewhat) recent years comedy wise with Eastbound & Down, Vice Principals, and The Righteous Gemstones
Oct 30, 2024 Never seen it tbh, I loved Get Out and hated Us so still debating lol I think the intro of 2 is gr8 but the rest is okay. Part 3 with the Ring is hilarious though. Also the intro of the 4th w Dr. Phill >>>
Oct 30, 2024 Exactly. Which is also why I don't hate Kills and Ends. There are so many great details and easter eggs too that proves they really paid attention to the original. But except for rehashing Laurie vs Michael for 2 movies they gave the townpeople a role in Kills and tried another different angle in 3. And like I said, had Corey been introduced in the first or second, I think people would be way less mad. It just felt rushed now and people didn't care (yet). But looking at the history... part 5 didn't bring much new after 4, and 6 had that awful Thorn s---. And H20 was just Myers in a Scream movie (I get back at that today since I watched it yesterday) So yeah I still think, besides 4, the new trilogy did a better job than the other sequels. Including Kills/Ends.
Oct 30, 2024 I don’t care if Halloween season will be over soon. To me, the whole rest of this year is Halloween
Oct 30, 2024 Not completely related but I saw a box set the other day with the new Halloween trilogy bundled together. Pretty cool!
