May 18, 2016 If it wasn't the EL final tonight I would have watched It Follows. I think this weekend. My expectations are very high so I hope it doesn't let me down haha. Same goes for the Final Girls (but maybe also because it has my favorite girl ever, Nina Dobrev lol). It says it's kind of like Friday the 13th but a funny version. I liked PA 3 and 4 a little as well. I like that the story gets more explained even if the actual movies aren't that good. @Alonso Sinister & Insidious are on the list already!
May 18, 2016 Had no idea there was a white noise 2, I actually didn't mind the first one so I should probably check out the 2nd sometime, curious to see how the rest of the list looks.
May 19, 2016 Part 2 adds a new element to it (the seeing the dying people part). Top 5 coming tomorrow
May 19, 2016 Whoa can't believe Strangers is 19. Easily top 3 for me. Halloween Strangers TCM(2003) 2 and 3 are completely interchangeable. Random thoughts- Rob Zombie's Halloweens are the worst films I've ever seen. f--- that guy. Also, read Helter Skelter if you haven't. That legitimately creeped me out for a month or so.
May 20, 2016 @Bman @Fitzy @Boyz N The Suburbs @csw621 @BuffaloBoy @tchortsunk @Changeling @Devil White @fluffy rabbits @Alonso @Kon @Tom Brady 5-4 are up, who can guess my top 3? @M Solo I will say something about that Rob Zombie a------, trust me
May 21, 2016 Accurate, it didn't interest me until the very end. I left the theaters feeling creeped out. If they had a normal ending, I probably would've forgotten it existed.
May 21, 2016 I forgot to add that I thought the remake of Nightmare On Elmstreet was dull. The star of the movie, the gorgeous Katy Cassidy, was killed off way to soon and the one playing Nancy isn't even close to Heather Langenkamp. The special effects were done nicely but the biggest problem with this movie: Freddy. It was a robotic monster, not the creepy, sadistic stalker that Robert Englund played. A Nightmare movie without him is already stupid.
May 21, 2016 I don't know if the movie I'm going to describe is/was well known, or not known at all, so @Michael Myers help me out. I watched this movie back in like 03 with my ex, where it shows this family getting tortured by home intruders. I believe there were 3 men, and one of them rapes the son, puts a knife to the son's throat, and while raping him, he accidentally sliced his throat. I can't remember the rest of the movie, because I'm pretty sure I stopped watching it at the r--- scene. It's one of the few times that I was too disturbed to watch something.
May 21, 2016 Hmm don't know right now but will try to find it. Personally I hate those movies. I want horror movies to scare me, not disguss me. Films like Saw, Human Centipede, Hostel, I Spit On Your Grave are not scary to me, they make me sick. Not saying they aren't good, Saw had a decent storyline, but I hate torture movies and I don't see the appeal other than if you're a psycho lol.
May 21, 2016 Hostel was a really cool concept though. I was creeped out by the idea, but like you, I don't necessarily want to be disgusted while watching a horror movie.
May 21, 2016 True! Concepts are cool but it's just not for me. I love movies that have tension (my top 3 will represent that, paranormal activity) and I love jump scares (insidious, sinister) and a good story (the ring). Some movies have all elements, some just 1 or 2.
May 21, 2016 I agree. I liked the concept of Hostel, because it brought a realism to horror movies, and something I could actually believe in. However, I felt the gore took away from the actual story. Same thing with the entire Saw franchise (plus the over-the-top twists and turns). A scene that was always shocking to me, was in Scream, when they gut Drew Barrymore, and hang her in the yard.... The way the camera slowly zooms into her body, but it's shaky, and you can't tell what you're really seeing? It was absolutely perfect. You didn't see how she got in that state, but you saw how ruthless the killer(s) was. Man, Scream was such a great movie. I didn't like the whole garage door part, but other than that? Loved it. I really wish they had more victims though, through the phone calls and quizzes. I felt like they abandoned it fairly quick, and it became a straight "slasher" movie, when it didn't need to be.
May 21, 2016 I hated Scream 2, 3 and 4 though. It made the first one a f---ing joke. "Stab" gtfoh. Billy's mom being the killer? lol gtfoh 2.0
