Apr 10, 2022 Only watched the first and thought it was boring as s---, but maybe with better effects. I will miss tony todd though
Apr 10, 2022 Foreign horror movies are brutal they don't play that s---. Feel like American movies follow the same boring formula or stay very tame never push boundaries like they're scared of how evil people themselves can actually be.
Apr 10, 2022 American horror movies be like "here's another horror can you guess the plot? If you thought to yourself another paranormal movie you're correct"
Apr 10, 2022 I honestly just want to see a horror movie that genuinely scares me. A lot of American horror movies follow the same scheme (Nun, Annabelle, Conjuring, La Llorona)...) and it gets boring, others try to be over the top artsy and some are well acted and fun to watch but not scary. European horror movies tend to be just gross. Stuff like A Serbian film and Human Centipede are just plainly sick, I wouldn't wanna watch that either lmao. Eden Lake is is one of the few movies that manage to make me feel uneasy. It's not fear but definitely something coming close. It's also somewhat grounded in reality which makes it even more eerie and the acting is superb. I also remember The Woman In Black scaring the f--- out of me when I watched it as a teenager lol
Apr 10, 2022 I feel like the scariest thing for me is "almost human like". We as humans are used to certain patterns and behavior. If you take something which somewhat follows these patterns but with a few details just feeling a little bit off, it would create fear and uneasiness (if you do it well). Let's take for example this extremely well done scene in an otherwise not so good movie The female ghost is walking like a human but the slow motion and weird feet motion makes it really scary imo. Hard to explain but it might be related to human psychology.
Apr 15, 2022 Blair Witch Project is the only film that I have been terrified watching and had nightmares days after watching it. Any other film is just what it is, it’s a film, so never been affected by the horror as it’s all acting and set up to try and scare you. But BWP was different, as you don’t see much and just the way it was filmed. Horror to me is when you question reality and what’s real or not. I remember having lots of discussions in school, if it was real or not. Myth for long time, that it was real and that just added to the beauty of the film. Outdated now of course but back then, they created something special.
Apr 16, 2022 Sinister really sticks out for me because its not really supernatural. Ofc there are spn forces but the video's creep the f--- out of me. Really scary movie @Chrollo serbian film, hostel, saw etc are not horror imo. I honestly dunno why someone that isn't a sick psychopath would enjoy it lol
Apr 23, 2022 Very interested in "The Black Phone" that comes in July. Also, who has seen Candyman 2021? @jankland @Detroit24 @CARNIFEX @Marsh Attacks etc ? I just got the dvd but the reviews I've seen all say its not scary and just a lof of "woke" and PC bs. If thats true I'm not even gonna bother watching it lol To add, I thought the OG Candyman was boring as s--- and not scary at all. Tony Todd still a legend though
Apr 23, 2022 lol I actually didn’t mind the 1992 one, have not seen the new one but I can see why you find og candyman boring as s--- hahaha....I was young and never said candyman 5 times! Haha I bet the new one is all about woke culture since og one is about the slave who gets with the rich white women...that s--- can’t work in 2021 they needed to add a bunch more to that Tony Todd is a legend...Minotaur, final destination etc...
Apr 23, 2022 BLMan. I didn't like it. Did you watch X? I think it's overrated as f--- like a lot of mid movies these days. It's ok at best. I enjoyed Scream 5 more even though it was meh. Had more fun watching it.
Apr 23, 2022 Like I said the new one is definitely worth watching if u like the OG Candyman. Just watch it man, it’s not a real long film like 3 hours or anything. It’s like a 7.5/10
Apr 23, 2022 I'm totally fine with a 'message' but if I want to see a horror movie I don't want to see woke political bs all over without any scary stuff True! Haven't seen it yet. Guess I'll have to wait when its out on dvd or netflix? I liked Scream 5. It was the worst of the franchise but that isn't saying much since I love the others. Probably a 6.5/10 or something. Only saw it in theatres though, have to watch it at home again to fully rate it. US still the most overrated horror movie I've seen in the past years lol Not a huge fan of candyman OG but I already paid for the dvd so gonna give it a chance and share my thoughts here. I know you aren't a fan of woke s--- either so you saying its ok makes me a little more positive lol
Apr 23, 2022 X has been out in HD (torrents) US was pretty trashed around here, I did like Lupita but the movie, nah. Nope also gives me bad vibes, I did like Get Out though.
Apr 23, 2022 Yeah I'm waiting for dvd or netflix, stopped using torrents a few years back. Gonna watch escape room 2 tonight! Liked the 1st one. And probably Scream 5 again tomorrow. US was amazing the first half hour or so. It gave me The Strangers vibes. Then the 'clones' turned into f---ing r-----s and stupid screaming. And to make it even worse, that horrible 'the line' thing where all clones were moronic. I liked the twist at the ending but just like Midsommar, it was a pretentious piece of s--- with no horror. Still not sure what the message really was though.
Apr 23, 2022 Like a 6, Scream would be a 6'5 I guess, it's simple and unoriginal, but I enjoyed it more.
