May 1, 2022 Been watching a lot of movies over the last day and a half as I got some free time Rent a pal - seemed a little low budget kind of had it playing in the background at the beginning but quarter in got my attention. Takes place in the 90s and is about some lonely middle aged guy who takes care of his mom he uses the old vhs dating style to find love interest but no luck and bumps into a video advertised as a "video best friend" pretty cool movie. Some "wtf moments" movie succeeded in getting me worked up throughout because of the story. 7/10 would recommend. Fresh - notice alot of movies are focusing on the horror of dating apps now lol. This one was cool 2 hour movie kept me invested but overhyped on Reddit people were saying it was a gore fest and main character was similar to Patrick Bateman but yeah both are far from that. Wasn't a bad film by any means but lacked a little maybe 6.5/10. Few days ago I watched Antlers - this was a nicely shot horror movie that failed in the end imo. Seems like a lot of films have been suffering from the pandemic as if everything is filmed on s-----y green screen or horrible cgi and this one suffered from s--- cgi creature but nicely shot film. Story was cool built up this badass creature that was an easy k--- at the end lol 5/10. Currently watching the lodge!
May 1, 2022 Yeah I got an opinion on that, but not gonna turn this into politics lol. Oh s--- lol, comin tomorrow!
May 1, 2022 definitely gonna check out those first two, how’d you like The Lodge? I watched it last year and thought it was pretty great
May 1, 2022 I'd say rent a pal was better than fresh, I can see fresh not really being worth a watch to some people honestly. The lodge was cool for what I was able to see but had to stop sadly it's been a minute since I've seen a true great horror/thriller that really blew me away that's not either mainstream or around 10 plus years old. Shutter was great for that though because a lot of their exclusives were amazing but not everything hit though and since I became a dad I don't have the time to sit around and waste time watching below average movies anymore sadly.
May 1, 2022 That's what he did with the movie Peele also loves doing it. At least Get Out was good, mad predictable, but good.
May 2, 2022 Yes. I watched Get Out yesterday again. But funny thing is, as racist as those people were, they wanted to have black bodies for the advantages. So in a twisted way it was a compliment too. Candyman really sends the message (to me) that all white people are evil and black/white people should stay away from eachother. Not sure if thats what people should think but okay.
May 2, 2022 Yeah, I've seen people call him the racist director lol, and it's true If they want a black director giving chances to more black actors just get 50 to do more stuff than just "hood s---"
May 4, 2022 Updated Scream rankings Scream Scream 2 Scream 3 Scream 5 Scream 4 Although I think 4 and 5 might be interchangeable.
May 4, 2022 Scream 5 is f---ing a---, what a way to ruin a consistent series. Even the later films that might not be anywhere near the quality of the og are at least enjoyable. 5 was such a cash grab and desperate attempt to appeal to the modern internet generation. Bad acting horrible script f---ing painful "ghost" scenes killing off main characters bringing back the og crew for barely any screen time just to be able to say "hey this movie won't s--- look who's coming back" movie really made me appreciate Halloween kills lol.
May 4, 2022 YouTuber said it best at this point it's just nice to see the ogs in a new movie on something that's not straight to dvd. That's the only redeemable quality from a lot of the newer films I'd sit through a s--- movie to see Michael but ghostface didn't have that charm on this one. He was alright sure but it's not like he made the movie better same goes for chucky in the recent films and shows he doesn't really save it. Both chucky series and scream 5 have a failed lgbtq Netflix show feel to them.
May 4, 2022 Need to watch S4 again, I pretty much only remember Kirby lol Scream 5 is entertaining at least @CARNIFEX , guess they are doing a trilogy like Halloween, we will see how it goes. I want to see Jenna Ortega again in the future, I already knew her from You.
May 4, 2022 You really think 5 is entertaining? Maybe it's better when you don't understand English and need subtitles idk. I seen they already confirmed 6 which is disappointing but I don't have a deep attachment to ghostface so it's whatever to me at this point they stained the series might as well keep going lol. I'm more looking forward to the prequel to It HBOMAX is doing.
May 4, 2022 I don't need subtitles lol I'm known here for watching interviews and they never have them If you want to watch something horrible go watch I Know What You Did Last Summer LBTG... version, they even cancelled that s--- real quick as expected. Scream 5 wasn't original at all, but it was kinda fun. If you like Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, then the ending feels like something you have already seen. I think Halloween Kills was also pretty bad, but it's the same thing, it's entertaining hope Ends will be good, but I doubt it at this point.
May 12, 2022 Horror movies were the only type of movies i watched back in the day - but there wasnt really one where i thought "d---, this one hit me hard or scared me". The only two movies that come close to this after watching them the first time are "Martyrs" and "Conjuring 1" But generally i have problems with watching movies nowadways. Since i'm so used to watching series, movies always feeling to rushed. The last movies i watched were "Dont Breathe 2" and TCM on Netflix.
May 12, 2022 They already teased her return in Scream 5. Good that she's back. Curious what role Sidney/Gale will have in S6
