Oct 14, 2024 Aight vamooos! Started my horror watch yesterday with a light one: Freaky I love the opening. It's a nice hommage to Scream and other classic slashers that have random teens being attacked before the 'main' story starts. First off, huge huge props to both Katherine Newton and Vince Vaughn. Playing 2 completely different characters and they crushed both. Loved how Katherine first played the shy teen and then turned into a cold b---- (and vice versa). The kills were cool. Story itself as well, nice Freaky Friday/Scream combo. I do think its a bit heavy on the hallmark touchy feelings stuff, but then again its a Hollywood teen slasher movie in 2020 and a lot of slashers do this. Also, none of the kills were really 'bad' imo. I kinda liked that but also think they could have done more with that subject. What I mean with not bad is that the Butcher (being Millie) basically killed all her bullies. The creepy a------ hartless teacher, the gossipy b----, maybe they didn't deserve to die but I didn't feel bad. And last but not least the 3 guys that were trying to r--- her, they 100% deserved to be slaughtered. But the movie never really explored that part further. The ending is so dumb though. How he suddenly was fine after being shot multiple times (he's not me!!) just to have a little women power moment at the end. I AM A PIECE!! Lmao so f---ing corny. Still, enjoyable movie overall! 7/10
Oct 14, 2024 Just finished another one, one of you watched and reviewed this too recently! Curse of Chucky The first one was so cool. The main thing I liked was the audience knowing the doll was no good, but we had to wait for the characters to find out. That made it the most creepy. But most of it, the movie was just fun. Honestly the 2nd and 3rd childsplay have been so long I forgot. Bride took a different route, being more about the comedy and weird s---. It was fine though. Seed went even further than that. In Curse, they went back to the roots of the franchise. Both the vibe, but also literally. He was creepy again. The score was also great. The kills were cool, Chucky's mystery during the movie. Until the barbiedoll got him back to his Seed look. Thats when it went full nostalgia. Even bringing back Charles Lee Ray himself and connecting the origin story of this movie to the night of 1988. Well done! And of course the ending w Andy was fun. But it made no sense why he would take that girls body only to be back in the doll six months later. Sure it is revealed that he split up his soul in Cult, but they didn't know that here. The Tiff reveal was also fun! And the mention of the families to make sure they didn't ignore any of the other sequels. I'm debating on watching Cult again too but it is so f---ing lame aside from the continuity and fan service lol. 7.7/10
Oct 15, 2024 I have yet to watch Chucky ones, might try to download some. I’ve been watching Nightmare (first 3 movies) and I only like the first one tbh.
Oct 15, 2024 I still need to watch this one. I’ve been too busy lately and when I do watch something it’s usually Stranger Things as of late
Oct 15, 2024 3 is nice especially with Heather returning but its also kinda childish at times imo. Good movie but I get if people are not a huge fan. Vamossss Pervert Yeah really nice and hope to see a part 2. They have 2 because this ending was not possible
Oct 15, 2024 I thought dude who got his hand stomped was in it since he lost his sports career and his girl
Oct 15, 2024 I’m simple. I see attractive women, I like but nah fr I feel like their characters and acting were my favorite parts of the movie aside from that thanksgiving dinner table scene
Oct 15, 2024 3 days behind on my marathon and i still got to listen to the album for AOTWClub, looks like a movie and some music for me tonight
Oct 16, 2024 Yeah agree but also true that hot actresses can make you tolerate certain flaws a little more. At least for me lol
