Oct 30, 2024 Also @Ripper Roo aren't the elections next week over there? Definitely another week of Halloween in murica lmao
Oct 30, 2024 Yup, November 5th is Election Day. s--- is definitely gonna be spooky. But lately I’ve been feeling too positive to feel doom and gloom all the time. I think no matter what happens everything will be okay in the end. Old me wouldn’t have said that, but I’ve been changing this year.
Oct 30, 2024 Plus there's zero influence you have. Both Kamala and Trump (and there policy) have good and bad things anyway lol
Oct 30, 2024 Nah, f--- that. We all gonna be dead soon and as years go by, you’ll see your parents, friends and loved ones all die in-front of your eyes, as the years go by and staring into a barrel of depression that you’ll never get out of, all the while the world is going to get worse around you. If you don’t see that happen, then you’ll be dead. This is the true horror of life. Don’t change.
Oct 30, 2024 Don’t worry, I still got that dog in me. I’m still aware of all these terrible things. Sometimes I still do get upset, angry, and sad about them. I can still use that as fuel. The only difference is I don’t let those things constantly keep me down, depressed, and suicidal anymore. I can’t fight a war if I’m already fighting a war in my head.
Oct 30, 2024 Parts of it are in the underlying narrative but it's mostly a very good and creative commentary about the exploitation of nature for human gain
Oct 30, 2024 See, I don't mind a horror movie with a message. Like Babadook, its about grief and how you have to give it a place in your life. Like they literally did at the end. But its also a really creepy and good horrormovie. Get Out obviously was about race too, but again it was a creative story, and above all a great horror movie. However with US, imo at least, in the process of the message and social commentary (nature/nurture), they forgot to make a great and scary movie. Especially the second half is so f---ing lame lol even if the twist was kinda cool. I'm afraid with Nope its also gonna be trying to force a political opinion above making a scary movie. But I haven't seen it so can't judge
Oct 30, 2024 Aight, 1 more from yesterday first, today already watched 2 as well Halloween H20 Let me be honest, this is probably my least favorite sequel to the original. Which I mean Halloween 4, H20 and H2018. The first half were we catch up with Laurie and her struggle to forget the tragedy, nothing happens really. Yet its my favorite part. It brings back Marion for the opening k--- (hello, Scream) but it was a nice start. Then the great Halloween theme, dope opening altogether. The second half of the movie though its so g.d. cheap we get chases with literally the Scream score. Its like putting Myers in a Scream movie, also taking place at a campus like S2. Its also weird that Myers has been burned down, shot in both his eyes, yet seems completely restored here. The last part when Laurie hunts him down with the Halloween theme is cool and I like the fight and chase scene itself. The ending is also cool, and definitive (no, the explanation in Res makes zero sense). Basically I kinda like this movie, and it was a nice story, but because of the setting and music... it doesn't really feel like a Halloween movie to me. Still a 6.5/10 for me though.
Oct 30, 2024 You watched 4 yet, ese? I was thinking bout getting the bluray but I only remember some stuff about it.
Oct 30, 2024 Nope is more of a thriller than a full horror to me tbh, it's still creepy and does a good job at it but you have to be into the kind of horror it's presenting.
Oct 30, 2024 Aight today so far; New Nightmare The original, first Nightmare On Elmstreet is about Freddy Krueger, the child killer that got killed and turned into a evil ghost haunting dreams. However in this movie the actual Freddy is not here. After the first Elmstreet Freddy was turned into a clown rather than a scary villain. The evil in New Nightmare, that takes Freddy's form, is way scarier than anything in this franchise. It also is a 'movie within a movie' but entirely different. Love the story about how Wes Craven writes what he dreams. This movie is so creative and the characters (Robert playing himself and the demon), Jon, even Wes himself, and ofcourse Heather are f---ing great. The kid also doing a great job playing posessed, so d--- creepy lol. Even if its technically not an 'Elmstreet' movie, imo this is by far the best and scariest. I absolutely love it. 10/10 !! Halloween 3 What I said earlier, JC wanted to make a halloween related movie every year. After Halloween however the studio forced him to make H2. Then he went back to the original idea with this movie. Sadly, the public demanded Myers back and someone else took over. I have mixed feelings about that. I love most of the Myers franchise but also want more movies like this. Thats why I love trick r treat and Tales Of Halloween. No bs drama, just spooky halloween movies that set the mood perfectly. After a serial killer that killed a bunch of people this movie wants to k--- millions. A bit much maybe, but Santa Mira, the masks, the theme music, a very atmospheric halloween vibe. This is what Halloween themed movies should be and I hope we get more like this (and the Fog). Perhaps I need to look for more JC movies from that era. A holiday classic to me. 8/10
Oct 30, 2024 I think it's quite different, get out and us are a bit more psychological and straightforward in it's scariness where nope is more cosmic horror
Oct 30, 2024 The bone claws and the f---ing trench coat on Freddy is so tough, whoever came up with the look of Freddy for this movie deserved a gigantic bonus
