Feb 11, 2018 I haven't seen either but I heard the OG is really bad (not just by critics) and the prequel very good. Is 1 worth watching at all?
Feb 11, 2018 It's inoffensive. It's just not much of a horror. It tries to be funny more than it tries to be scary, and not even by subverting horror tropes or anything that would make it a horror comedy. Seems really pointed towards demographics similar to the protagonist as well.

Feb 12, 2018 So.. just watched Anabelle. I went in with very low expectations after people slandering it (both critics and fans). And honestly, I was surprised. In a good way. Now, if you went in with the idea 'Conjuring was amazing, if this is even close to it... its gonna be great!' then this was definitely a huge let down. It's nowhere near Conjuring as far as being scary. Anabelle is also kinda rushed and seems to lack real inspiration. Its like 'we want to do something with that doll' but it doesn't have those intense moments Conjuring has. There are a few very creepy scenes and I honestly liked the characters, especially the 2 leads. But this could have been so much more. A lot of random things are never explained, we still don't really know what Anabelle is and what actually happened, what was the point of the neighbors and their kids etc etc etc Maybe Anabelle:Creation will answer questions about the doll but I doubt it will explain the events of this movie. However, putting the Conjuring comparison away this was a decent movie. So far this franschise is really good! I just hope they don't rush the other spinoff 'The Nun' like they did with this one. Also hoping for Creation being as enjoyable as people say. @ComfortablyNumb @Devil White
